Hello there,
Thank you for joining me.
My name is Rachel and it is my pleasure to guide you through this practice.
Before we begin,
I just wanted to remind you here right now in this very time and place,
You are worthy.
As long as we are on the journey of life,
We can forget this simple and true fact.
This meditation is going to explore a reclamation of your worthiness,
But also some compassion.
All of us are on a journey with no rush to a distant destination.
Now,
If you haven't already,
Find yourself a comfortable seat or you can lay down.
Your eyes might start to relax closed or maybe just three quarters of the way.
Take a few moments to feel into your natural breath.
The connection between some movement in your body and your breath.
Nostrils,
Belly,
Maybe a slight rising of the chest.
Just noticing the path of the breath.
Nostrils,
Belly,
Belly,
Nostrils.
Seeing if you can soften some of the features of your face,
Your shoulders.
Take a few more breaths.
Then coming a little deeper into the space inside you,
Find a place you want to bring your attention,
A place that you can reside for a little while.
Don't overthink it.
You will intuitively know where this place is for you.
It can be anywhere in your whole body.
Focusing on this place,
Breathing into this space.
Breathing into the space you've found within your body.
Seeing a sense of warmth and comfort.
If you're visual like me,
You might even like to imagine a warm light or colour here.
We're going to begin focusing on our breath a little bit more,
Creating an equal ratio of inhalation and exhalation.
So for you that might be four breaths in and four breaths out,
Maybe five or six.
Just finding a comfortable number of that breath if you already know.
Usually I like to start at five and then just seeing how I'm feeling that day.
Seeing our sense of equanimity resting in our internal safe space.
We're going to be using this equal breath ratio for about one minute.
We'll take two more rounds of breath here.
And then releasing the breath.
To remember our worth,
We need to let go of the conditioning that has told us we need to do something in order to deserve our worthiness.
This simply cannot be true.
You are worthy right now,
Exactly as you are in this moment.
There is no universal scoreboard.
We are all on our own journeys and we are all here for a reason.
Each and every one of us was born worthy of living,
Worthy of choice,
Joy,
Safety,
And a fulfilling life.
Even if we did not always receive these things,
It is your birthright to receive them now and into the future.
We need to remember now all the reasons you are worthy to receive.
Worthy of love,
Worthy of whatever it is in your heart's most desires.
Allow these thoughts to rise to the surface if they come.
Remember now that this is not connected to your career,
Your mistakes,
Your direction in life,
Or your material worth.
Worthiness is inside you,
But it is like a plant.
You must tend to it,
Acknowledge it,
And water it often.
When you can embrace your worthiness,
You will be open to shine your light upon the world,
To share your wonderful uniqueness.
The best part is,
When you do this,
Those around you will feel the permission to do the same.
I'm going to share some mantras with you now.
As you repeat them silently to yourself,
Take a moment to imagine what it would feel like to embody this,
To be this.
You can repeat each mantra three times.
It is my birthright to feel worthy.
It is my birthright to feel worthy.
I already am that which I am seeking.
I already am that which I am seeking.
The last one I'm going to share with you,
You can fill in the blanks with something you really want to feel.
I am worthy of,
Or you can say I am worthy to.
And some ideas that you might like to use of,
I'm worthy of love,
I'm worthy to rest.
You don't have to use these ideas,
But there's some there for you to use if you need.
Just repeating silently to yourself three times.
Coming to rest now,
Back in your internal space,
Breathing softly but naturally.
You may even like to place a hand over this space you're feeling inside,
Allowing that physical,
Tangible connection of your internal and external worlds.
As you allow yourself to rest here for a little while longer,
You can listen to my words.
From the moment you were conceived,
You are worthy.
The very fact that your uniqueness and gifts came into this world is no accident.
The universe,
God,
Or natural selection has conspired in your favour.
No one else is quite like you.
No one has the perspectives or life experience you have.
No one has your combination of talents.
It doesn't matter what you say or do.
How many times you might stumble or fall,
You have permission to share your light and your shadows with others.
Worthiness is a state of mind because you are worth so much more than you think.
Allow yourself to embrace compliments.
Allow yourself to receive what others see in you.
Reaching the good in what we see in others is a reflection of what we have within ourselves.
Playing small can only harm ourselves and prevent us from giving and receiving from others.
Sometimes our journey to worthy can feel like a long road,
But it's already held within us.
If we can be brave enough to admit how wonderful we are,
Yes,
You,
You are awesome,
Amazing,
Talented,
Kind,
Special.
If you did not already believe you were worthy and deserving somewhere inside of you,
You would not be listening to this meditation right now.
So join me in bringing a smile to your face.
What you seek is within you.
What you seek is within you.
Allow this smile to spread a warm through your whole body,
Lighting up each and every cell with a soft yellow glow,
A celebration all through your body.
Let each and every cell smile vibrating with happiness.
Now let this feeling get bigger and bigger,
Traveling to those you know and love.
Let this feeling spread to strangers bigger and bigger as though you can't contain the electricity and energy.
Now slowly draw this energy back towards yourself and bring it back into that special place we've been using through this practice.
All this energy now resides in this place.
You can close your eyes,
Place your hand there and feel all that you are,
All that you are today and every day.
Beautiful and starting to come back to the present moment,
Hearing the sounds around you,
Maybe starting to get a bit of movement into the body,
Into the fingertips,
Maybe rolling the head.
I'm just going to rub hands together,
Creating a little bit of heat and warmth and placing those hands over the eyes.
Take a deep breath,
Exhale.
Remove the hands and open the eyes when you're ready.
