Allowing yourself to get as cozy as possible in this space and moment.

Maybe wrapping the body in a warm blanket,

Stretching the legs long,

Embracing a pocket,

A container,

A moment of peace.

Slowly blinking a few times and when you feel ready closing the eyes,

Turning the awareness inward,

Focusing on your inner landscape,

Your inner world,

Fostering that same sense of coziness within,

Starting to allow the breath to become more even,

Slow and intentional.

The inhales long and wide,

The exhales smooth and relaxing,

Allowing one part of the breath to flow into the next part,

Seamless,

Full of ease.

One more full breath in and a long slow breath out,

Allowing the breath to find and settle into a new rhythm and flow,

Continuing to slow the body,

The mind,

And the soul down,

Giving yourself space to just be present in this moment.

Hygge is a Danish term that essentially means a feeling of contentment or well-being.

Hygge is about creating an atmosphere that feels cozy,

Warm,

And comforting.

It's all about togetherness,

Gathering with loved ones,

Finding gratitude for the simplest things,

And allowing harmony within the seasons.

Hygge is often talked about around the holidays because it invites a certain energy,

A slow,

Calm,

And restorative energy.

Starting to think about this cozy atmosphere,

A warm cup of tea,

The soft glow of a candle,

Maybe the lights on your tree,

Or the scent of a wreath at your door.

.

.

What coziness surrounds you?

Reflecting for a moment,

Can you find gratitude for the simplest things?

The lights,

The warmth of your home,

Your coffee in the morning.

.

.

What can you be grateful for?

And now thinking about this idea of togetherness,

Maybe honoring those that you are gathered with right now,

People listening and sharing in this practice from all over the world.

This beautiful pocket of togetherness.

And thinking about your family,

Your friends,

And your loved ones,

Pets maybe.

.

.

Can you explore gratitude for the shared moments and the experiences,

The love that is present here and in the world?

Hygge reminds us to be content with all that we have,

The simplest things that bring a sense of joy.

Thinking about the simple things,

The sound of the pages turning as you read a good book,

The taste of your favorite drink,

Or a meal that you love.

Maybe the holiday music that makes you smile,

The soft sheets that welcome you after a long day.

Feeling grateful for all of the things that offer you comfort and peace.

Starting to notice the feeling of warmth within you,

Joyful energy washing over you,

Soothing the nervous system,

Slowing down the thoughts.

Gratitude softening all tension and worry,

Restoring you to a place of abundance and calm.

What does Hygge mean to you today?

And how can you continue to cultivate a Hygge holiday filled with warmth,

Love,

And coziness?

Taking a deep breath in,

Enjoying and savoring the inhale,

And exhaling when you're ready,

Releasing all expectation,

Worry,

Rushed energy.

Feeling all of that energy leaving the body,

The mind,

And soul.

Feeling a deep sense of contentment within you.

Comfort,

Love,

Coziness.

It's always with you.

Choosing this today and every day as you continue to welcome the holidays.

Bringing the palms together in prayer position for our final closing.

May you be well,

May you have the love and light of support around you,

And may you be peaceful and share that peace with the world.

Thank you for this practice and happy holidays.

Great cozy meditation. Wish there was a non-holiday version, but no big deal :)
