When life is stressful,
Finding motivation can be difficult.
Our usual routines are overturned,
And our priorities may have shifted.
Meditation helps calm our bodies and quiet our minds,
Allowing us to be better equipped to face the day ahead.
Take a few moments to get comfortable,
Sitting or lying down,
And close your eyes.
Begin to notice your breathing.
Don't try to control it,
Just let it naturally come in,
And out,
In,
And out,
In,
And out.
Continue to breathe,
Noticing any sensations as your breath comes in and out of your body.
Let your face,
Neck,
And shoulders relax.
For the next few moments,
Let your mind wander and think about the day ahead.
Let your thoughts come into your mind,
And then let them pass out of your mind,
Just as your breath comes into your body and out of your body.
As you continue to imagine the day ahead,
Envision a word or phrase that you would like your day to become.
One that motivates you to move forward with your day.
It could be a descriptive word,
Like energized,
Focused,
Or calm,
Or an active phrase,
Like take everything in stride.
Whether it's a word or phrase,
Begin to repeat it in your mind as you inhale,
And as you exhale,
Imagine breathing out any other thoughts or distractions.
Repeat your word or phrase a few more times as you breathe.
Now let the word or phrase go,
And simply return your focus to your breath.

And out,
In,
And out.
As you move through your day,
If you find yourself distracted or unfocused,
Take a few deep breaths,
And repeat your word or phrase,
Your source of motivation.
Take one more deep breath,
And gently open your eyes.
