We all have days when we're feeling drained and need a little boost.
When we're depleted of energy,
It can be difficult to concentrate.
This meditation is designed to refresh and refocus your mind and body.
Take a moment to get comfortable,
Sitting or lying down,
And close your eyes.
Take three deep breaths.
In and out.
In and out.
In and out.
Continue to breathe deeply.
Now bring your attention to your legs,
From your feet up to your hips.
Scrunch up your toes,
Squeeze your knees and thighs together,
And engage all of the muscles in your legs.
On your next exhalation,
Let everything release,
Feel your legs and feet relax.
Bring your attention to your torso.
Engage all of the muscles in your stomach and chest,
And tighten the muscles of your back.
Squeeze your muscles from the front to the back of your body.
And on your next exhalation,
Let all of these muscles release.
Feel the front and back of your torso relax.
Now bring your attention to your arms and hands.
Make fists with your hands and squeeze your arms into the side of your body.
On your next exhalation,
Let all of the muscles in your arms and hands release.
Feel your upper arms right down to your palms and fingertips relax.
Finally,
Bring your attention to your shoulders,
Neck and face.
Squeeze your shoulders up towards your ears and tighten the muscles in your face,
Pursing your lips and scrunching up your eyes and nose.
On your next exhalation,
Let your shoulders relax,
And soften all of the muscles in your face and neck.
Now return your attention to your breathing,
Letting it come in and out,
In and out.
Feel the renewed sense of energy in your body.
By tensing and releasing our muscles,
We can let go of any unnecessary tension we might be holding.
This frees up energy,
Giving us a boost when we need it.
Take one more deep energizing breath in,
And as you exhale,
Gently open your eyes.
