This is Day 16 of the 28-Day ONE MINUTE Mindfulness Challenge. Today we will be mindful of our breath as it travel through the center of our body from the bottom to the top just like a slow-moving elevator. These are short, quick mindfulness exercises for teachers, parents and children to get a taste of what it feels like to commit to the self-care practice of mindfulness every day for 28 days.

Welcome to day 16 of your mindfulness challenge.

Today we will be sensing our breath using elevator breath.

Sit tall and comfortable.

Close your eyes or bring your gaze down.

Imagine you have a little elevator at the very bottom of your belly.

Start to take a deep breath in.

As you do,

The elevator will travel through the center of your body up,

Up,

Up to the top of your head.

As you breathe out,

The elevator will go down,

Down through the center of your body,

Back to the very bottom of your belly.

Let's try that again.

Lift the elevator up as you breathe in,

In,

In to the top,

And breathe out.

The elevator falls down,

Down,

All the way down.

One more time,

Breathe in,

Lifting the elevator all the way up through your center to the top and breathe out.

The elevator goes down,

Down,

Down.

Hands in your lap.

Open your eyes or lift your gaze.

Very nice job.
