Mantras are important on stressful and busy days because they provide a simple, repeatable focus that can calm the mind and reduce anxiety. This mantra reminds us warriors that we can approach a busy day without fear or stress, because we’ve got all the tools we need to nail it. It was given to me by my amazing therapist years ago and helps me all of the time. Really hope you enjoy, warrior. Massive thanks to Alex Wit from Pixabay for the beautiful background music.

Hello,

And thank you so much for joining me for this Mind the Pain mindfulness meditation aimed at reducing the stress,

Pain,

And anxiety caused by endometriosis.

When you're ready,

I invite you to close your eyes or keep an unfocused gaze in front of you,

Whichever you prefer,

Sitting up straight or lying down,

Your head,

Shoulders,

Belly,

And full body slowly relaxing.

We'll begin by arriving in the stillness with slowing down our breath and leaning into its capacity to soothe us.

So when you're ready,

Take a deep breath in through your nose and exhale slowly through the mouth.

And one more time,

Take a deep belly breath in and a nice slow exhale out,

Releasing any tightness that's left in your body.

As endo warriors,

We can often feel compelled to overdo it on the days when we feel good,

Trying to take advantage of what can feel like a sudden surge of energy.

And even though we should never feel guilt or shame for needing our very necessary rest days,

We can inadvertently overpack our plate when our body is feeling its best,

Making up for some perceived loss of time,

Sometimes sadly leading us to another dance with pain and fatigue.

As truly unfair as this can be sometimes,

We can't always avoid the busy days that the universe throws at us,

But we can find ways to keep up with life without compromising our health,

Allowing us to be busy while remaining safe in our body,

Especially on days when you don't have the energy at all to keep up with the hustle of life.

So as we lay here,

I want you to feel your body letting go of any obligation or worry about the busy day ahead,

Just staying with a calming breath and out of the wandering mind.

And as we allow our mind to let go of all unrelenting standards,

We'll just breathe deeply and on your inhale,

Repeat,

Be busy,

Calm.

And on the exhale,

Not busy,

Stressed.

Be busy,

Calm.

Not busy,

Stressed.

Be busy,

Calm.

Not busy,

Stressed.

Continue to repeat this to yourself,

Feeling calmness wash over you as you let go of all of life's expectations.

Be busy,

Calm.

Not busy,

Stressed.

Continuing to down-regulate our nervous system by breathing deeply,

Allowing the words to resonate within you.

And before we softly return to the room,

We'll set an intention that no matter how overwhelming the day may feel,

We will never let it disrupt our cool,

Calm vibe,

Remembering to breathe deeply and slowly whenever we find ourselves getting a bit stressed.

And when you're ready,

We'll just take another deep breath in through the nose,

And a nice slow exhale through the mouth.

One last time,

Deep inhale in through the nose,

And a nice slow exhale out.

We'll wiggle the fingers and toes,

Do a nice gentle stretch,

And slowly open your eyes.

Remember,

It's so natural for us to get stressed on the busy days,

Even when we've got the energy for them.

But remember that we can be busy without harming our beautiful body.

So when we sense that we're drifting into a stress response,

Just pause,

Breathe deeply to down-regulate,

And repeat that you're busy,

Calm,

Not busy,

Stressed.

Because you're way too cool to ever let the heat get to you.

Go on,

Warrior.

You've got this.
