In this grounding meditation, we’ll explore the idea of “weeding” our inner garden — gently noticing which thoughts, habits, or patterns might be crowding our well-being. You’ll be invited to clear space, make room for what matters, and carry forward a little more ease.

So today we're talking about weeds,

But not the kind that take over your lawn.

The ones that pop up in your inner world.

And we all have them.

Old beliefs that no longer feel true.

Habits that we've outgrown.

Thought patterns that wrap around us like those stubborn vines.

And just like in the garden,

If we don't tend to them,

They can start taking over.

Crowding out our peace,

Our joy,

Our clarity.

So today on Weed Your Garden Day,

Let's do a little mindful maintenance.

Nothing too intense.

And there's no pressure to yank out every root.

Just a gentle check in.

A little space making.

A little light.

Now let's take a moment to settle in.

Notice your breath coming in.

Breath going out.

No need to change it.

We're just observing.

With every breath out,

You can let your shoulders soften.

Let your jaw loosen.

Let your attention gently land in the body.

And try to imagine for a moment that your mind is a garden.

It's a patch of earth uniquely yours.

And maybe it seems sometimes like it's wild and overgrown.

Or maybe it's tidy and intentional.

Maybe it's a mix of both.

There's no wrong way for it to look.

And as you breathe,

Start to notice what's growing here.

What feels nourishing.

What brings beauty,

Joy and peace.

And now see if you can find anything that's taking up space that doesn't need to.

Maybe a habit of overthinking.

A little voice of self-doubt.

Some creeping comparison that shows up when you least expect it.

There's no need to judge it.

Just notice it.

Gently.

Kindly.

Take a breath in.

And as you exhale,

Just imagine you pulling out one small weed.

Not an anger.

Not with force.

Just an act of caring.

Of touching.

Of tending.

Maybe it's a thought that you've believed for years.

But today you can see it for what it really is.

It's just a story.

A seed that someone else planted.

And it's okay to let that go.

Maybe it's an old should.

I should be further along.

I should have done this.

I should have it all figured out.

See if you can unearth just one of those today.

Shake off that dirt and set it aside.

And then.

In its place.

What would you like to grow?

Maybe a little more kindness.

Patience.

Confidence.

Maybe just some peace and rest.

So with every breath,

Give the intention a little bit of sunlight.

Let it take root.

You know,

The poet Emily Fletcher says,

Meditation is not about clearing your mind.

It's about clearing space for what matters.

And that's all we're doing here.

We're just clearing space.

Pulling out those weeds and making room.

Because when we weed with compassion,

Not force,

We honor the natural cycles of growth.

We don't expect ourselves to be perfect.

We just keep tending a little bit at a time.

So let's wind down by taking one more deep breath.

And maybe say to yourself,

I can release what no longer matters.

What no longer serves me.

I can create space for what I truly need.

Great.

So as you move through the rest of your day,

Just notice if any weeds try to sneak back in and they often do,

But now you have the tools,

Awareness,

A willingness to pause and tend to what's growing.

And just like that,

Your garden thrives.

It's always just a breath away.

May you be happy.

May you be healthy and may you be at peace.

Thank you so much for joining me.

Bye.
