Sleep is an ally on your pathway to feeling better in your body,
And I am the friendly voice here to help you cross that dreamy bridge.
You deserve to feel the best you can right now,
And we are going to get you there.
You will awaken refreshed,
And this will all be but a distant memory.
This moment of pain will pass.
Even if you surrender to slumber,
Your subconscious mind or your highest self may continue to work on softening the signals of pain that you have been receiving.
Rest brings transformative powers,
And that's what tonight will bring.
So settle in a place where you may lie down as comfortably as you can,
And trust you are in good hands.
It's time to dream away.
I am Michelle,
And I understand what it's like when the noise of pain becomes too loud and unbearable.
We are going to dial it down,
One notch at a time,
Relieving you of its grip.
Frayed nerves may be soothed.
The rhythm of your pain may fade into a soft,
Easy tempo,
And you may find solace and comfort in your body.
Take a brief moment to honor yourself for showing up.
There is no more difficult time to show up than when you are tired and comfortable,
And not in the greatest of mindframes regarding a situation.
The hardest part is over.
You made it here,
To your sanctuary for restoration and self-care.
You have made the choice to open your mind to a different way to handle your pain.
Right now,
You are safe.
You are doing the best you can do,
And you're doing it so well.
You may be wondering what or who the pain soother is,
But there is no mystery to this.
You are the pain soother.
You are the one at the control center now,
Easing yourself with each breath and moment,
Closer to the sense of deep serenity and relief you seek.
As you become more open to receiving the messages in this practice,
Maybe you begin to open yourself to an alleviating approach to breathing.
Now,
Let's turn our attention to how our bodies often hold on to tension.
Tension goes beyond physical tightness.
It's a sticky,
Gummy catch-all for emotions,
For discomfort,
And for all those swirling thoughts about the world we live in.
It settles in,
Often unnoticed,
Like a thick residue in various parts of your body.
It's the very junk you don't need,
Weighing you down,
When you are already experiencing pain or discomfort,
Clinging to your muscles,
Your joints,
And the very essence of your being.
We're going to release this dense and helpful weight that often makes us feel forget to breathe deeply,
Restricting the natural flow of ease and spaciousness within us.
Your breath,
Your gentle,
Healing breath,
Has an incredible power.
It's designed to clear out this gunk with each full,
Conscious inhale.
Imagine you are drawing in pure,
Cleansing light with a fresh vital energy that seeks out and surrounds the stickiness caused by tension.
As you slowly exhale,
Visualize that light gently loosening,
Softening,
And dissolving this sticky,
Gummy tension.
It's like warm,
Soothing water melting away old syrup,
Allowing it to become fluid and release its grip.
Take a deep,
Slow breath in and truly feel that clear,
Restorative air circulating through every part of your body.
As you exhale,
Picture that once sticky tension transforming into a wispy,
Transparent vapor,
Effortlessly releasing from your pores,
Flowing out with your breath,
And dissipating harmlessly into the air around you.
Breathe in and then breathe it all out.
Inhale,
Release.
Exhale,
Peace.
As you feel a profound shift,
Areas that once felt dense are restricted.
Start to feel clearer,
More open,
More free.
As you continue to use your breath as this incredible cleansing tool,
Inhaling pure,
Clear energy and exhaling all the built-up residue of stress,
Stress,
Worry,
And physical clinging.
As we proceed,
Find the pace that works for you now.
It may not always be the same as you listen,
But you are becoming better,
Better,
Better,
Breath by breath,
At accepting this moment.
Expanding,
Becoming lighter.
Exhaling,
Perhaps sighing,
Drawing into yourself,
In this wonderful body and vessel,
That is here for you.
Your sacred home.
The one place in the world that is all yours to design.
An internal sanctuary.
A place where peace and encouragement may always be found.
There is the pain we experience,
And then there are our perceptions of pain.
The more we resist and fight,
The more counterproductive our thoughts become.
All the negative emotions,
Though so very much fair and justified,
Become meddlers that unite with our discomfort and intensify it.
We're going to issue a breakup right now,
Letting our emotional feelings and thoughts and the physical discomfort that was already there to become detached.
No longer engaging with one another.
No longer acting as a duo that interferes with your healing.
Continue to breathe in this delicious moment,
Where the only thing required of you is to honor what your body desires.
In this sweet silence,
Where only the easy air and flow of your breath fills the air with a sound like gentle ocean waves.
In and out.
Take this time to go a little deeper and investigate the source of your pain.
Imagine gliding and floating between its radiating presence,
Softening each wave as you go,
As if there's a magic wand in your hand that can transform anything.
Find places that are tight or crunchy or fiery or drumming and soften them with this wand as you inhale and exhale.
Now,
Bring the message to every nerve cell that they have done their jobs in communicating to you,
But may now take a little breather.
No need to be so loud.
You are listening and you are here to soothe.
And you may imagine yourself traveling throughout your body,
Exploring from the crown of your head,
Right on down to the soles of your feet.
You carry a velvety satchel this time,
And as if going through the fields with a butterfly net on the perfect summer day,
You go through your body and begin collecting all your thoughts about your pain.
Scoop them up and place them in this bag,
Feeling the bag getting heavier at first.
Yet,
You soon find that the bag lightens as these thoughts are absorbed,
Tucked within the darkness of your satchel,
No longer disrupting your pathway to healing.
And one by one,
You may now imagine collecting the sources of your pain,
The nerve cells that are a bit too loud and persistent,
And the atoms around them,
Like angry emojis or defiant toddlers.
You corral them,
Steady,
Easy,
And patient.
And there's even a little humor as you laugh at the tyrannical and overreacting pieces of you that are now being reminded that you are in charge.
You are the conductor of this healing mission.
You are the pain soother.
And as you inhale,
Light and free,
And then exhale,
Drawing inward,
Feeling loved and nurtured,
Your body continues to soften.
The familiar pathways of noise,
Once gripping,
Now letting go.
It's human nature that we become drawn to the familiar and what feels right because it's been happening for so long.
But you are now detangling these signals,
And inviting yourself to imagine what it might be like to be as soft and delicate as seagrass,
Billowing in the warm,
Sun-dappled summer tides.
Soothing bands of blue and aquamarine,
Flowing with warm,
Gentle,
Releasing waves of comfort.
It's so natural to need a gentle reminder and to tune up.
Even the most well-made guitar or harp or piano,
Every now and then,
Needs its strings to be readjusted or replaced.
Gently guided in tune.
And right now,
Your breath,
Easily guiding your chest and belly to rise and fall,
Is helping to fine-tune the inner workings of your body.
The mechanics now refined,
Make everything about this moment become freer and more accommodating.
Your chest,
More easily rising and falling,
Deeper into the softened spaces of your lowest abdomen.
The more space each breath gives,
The less pressure you feel on your body.
This expansiveness allows tension to melt a little bit more,
And gives room for muscle fibers to unfurl and smoothen.
Nerves begin to simply float in this expansive space within you.
Perhaps,
If you'd like,
You may imagine that each intake of breath is sending cooling,
Mentholated waves of blue,
Healing energy throughout your pain points.
Numbing,
Quieting,
Delicate cool blue sass to the heat of inflammation.
As appealing as dipping the soles of your feet in the gentle,
Cool waves of a sea.
Exhaling,
Go.
Your body soft and drifting to peace.
Your attention returns now to your velvety satchel,
The one you've been carrying,
So diligently collecting every stray thought about pain,
Every unnecessarily loud signal,
Every defiant atom.
Feel its weight,
For what may be the last time.
It might still feel a little heavy,
But notice how much lighter you already feel.
Simply by taking these elements of discomfort,
And placing them outside of your immediate awareness.
This is a conscious act,
A powerful choice.
Now,
With both hands,
Gently gather the opening of that satchel.
Take your time,
Making sure every last thought,
Every last feeling,
Every last loud signal is safely tucked inside.
Pull the drawstrings tight,
Tying a secure double knot.
Feel the firmness of that knot,
Knowing that everything inside is contained.
No longer needing your attention,
You are sealing it away.
Not to ignore,
But to release its immediate grip on you.
And now,
Visualize a special place in the landscape of your mind.
Perhaps it's a high shelf,
In a quiet,
Undisturbed room.
Or a sturdy hook,
On a distant,
Peaceful wall.
Or even a secret,
Forgotten nook,
In a serene inner garden.
Whatever this place looks like to you,
Take your satchel,
And with a delicate,
Deliberate motion,
Place it there.
Set it down,
Or hang it up.
Release your hands from it,
And observe it from a distance.
It's still there,
Yes,
But it is no longer directly on you,
Or in your immediate awareness.
It's simply there,
Out of sight,
Out of mind,
For now.
Notice the instant relief that washes over you.
That quick,
Subtle release of tension you didn't even realize you were holding.
A deep sigh may escape your lips naturally.
A sense of lightness,
A feeling of space now fills the void where the weight of those worrying thoughts about pain once resided.
This feeling of more relief that you quickly feel is your body's intelligent response to your conscious decision.
You have chosen to shift your focus,
To move from the problem to the solution.
From the noise to the quiet.
And in doing so,
You create space for something new.
You are no longer fighting,
You are simply allowing.
Allowing your body to find its natural equilibrium,
Its innate state of comfort.
Embracing lightness and inner space.
And as you focus on this space,
This new expanse within you,
It's like a vast clear sky after a storm has passed.
Notice the progression of comfort and lightness that continues to unfold with each gentle breath.
It began subtly and now it deepens.
Feel your limbs growing heavier.
It's simultaneously lighter in sensation.
Completely supported by whatever surface you are resting upon.
Your bones feel solid and your muscles are soft and pliable.
There's an effortless quality to your existence right now.
Imagine this lightness expanding from your core,
Flowing outwards.
It moves through your chest,
Softening your collarbones and easing your shoulder blades.
It travels down your arms,
Through your elbows,
Forearms,
Wrists and into your hands.
Your fingers uncurl,
Relaxed and free.
This wave of lightness then flows downwards,
Through your abdomen,
Through your hips,
Softening any tightness in your pelvis.
It cascades down your thighs,
Over your knees,
Through your calves,
Your ankles and into your feet.
Your toes relax,
Unclenching,
Feeling open and spacious.
Every cell in your body is now bathed in this feeling of comfort and openness.
There are no resistant parts,
No areas clamoring for your attention.
Instead,
There is a cooling hum of quietude,
An underlying current of peacefulness that you are now fully tuned into.
This is your body in its most natural state.
Remember,
Your body possesses incredible powers to self-heal.
You have witnessed this throughout your life.
A cut that mends itself,
A bruise that fades,
A fever that breaks.
These are not coincidences,
They are the fundamental operations of your being.
And these inherent,
Intelligent,
Healing powers are now being stirred,
Awakened by your willingness to rest,
To release,
And to trust.
They are bringing forth solutions that all happen in the background,
Effortlessly,
While your conscious mind focuses on the loving,
Nurturing process of feeling better.
You don't need to instruct these processes,
You just need to allow them.
Your role is simply to provide the ideal environment.
This quiet space.
This gentle guidance.
This profound permission to rest,
Where you no longer get in your own way.
Think of it like a vast,
Intricate garden within you.
You are simply watering it,
Giving it sunlight,
And allowing nature to do its profound healing work.
The seeds of wellness are already planted.
You are simply cultivating the conditions for them to blossom.
This inner intelligence,
This body wisdom,
Knows precisely what to do to restore balance,
To quiet overactive signals,
To bring harmony back to every system.
And it is working for you,
Right now.
As you breathe,
As you relax,
As you surrender to this moment of peace,
Trust in this profound process.
You may help this process by sending a conscious belief that you will find more pleasing moments.
Send a gentle whisper of intention.
I am open to feeling more at ease.
I am moving towards greater comfort.
This isn't a demand,
But an invitation.
A gentle knowing that your experience is fluid,
And that you have the capacity to influence it with your awareness and your intention.
Understand that nothing is constant.
Not even pain.
It is a sensation,
A signal,
A temporary state.
Like the changing seasons,
Like the ebb and flow of tides.
Everything in life is in motion.
The most intense storm eventually gives way to clear skies.
The tightest bud eventually unfurls into a beautiful flower.
And so too,
The edges of pain soften slowly.
They begin to blur,
To lose their sharpness,
To recede into the background.
Feel the subtle shifts,
The tiny moments of quiet within the noise.
The whispers of comfort.
These are the signs of the softening,
The gentle unwinding taking place.
And whenever the pain becomes present,
Whatever its form or intensity,
See it as a drawing on a chalkboard.
And your gentle breath,
Your peaceful focus,
Is like a soft eraser,
Slowly,
Gently blurring its lines.
Disappearing as its definition softens and its contrast lessens.
It becomes less prominent,
Less demanding of your attention,
As you choose to focus on the space around the drawing.
The vast,
Clear chalkboard behind it.
And as you continue to breathe,
Continue to soften,
Feel your consciousness beginning to gently detach from your physical awareness.
You are moving into a realm where the mind and body can communicate on a deeper level.
And impeded by waking concern,
The quiet whispers of your healing body are now the loudest sounds in your inner world.
Allow the gentle current of my voice to be like a soft hammock,
Cradling you into this delicious state of rest.
Feel yourself embracing the contrast of becoming heavier,
Yet infinitely lighter.
Sinking into whatever supports you,
As if it were the softest cloud.
Your mind is a quiet lake,
Its surface calm and still.
You are perfectly safe,
Perfectly supported,
Perfectly on your way to the deepest,
Most restorative sleep.
Your eyelids feel heavy,
Weighted by the soothing balm of profound relaxation.
Your jaw is loose and your facial muscles completely released.
Every cell in your body is now breathing with you,
In unison,
In harmony.
The symphony of stillness is your lullaby.
Any pain signals are now like distant echoes,
Fading into the background,
No longer able to capture your attention.
Your body is now completely at rest.
Gently re-patterned,
Rewired by the restorative power of your deepest rest.
Feel yourself drifting,
Drifting effortlessly.
You are crossing that dreamy bridge,
Moving into a landscape of profound peace.
And as you sleep,
You actively heal.
Your body takes this precious time to mend,
To rejuvenate,
To restore itself to its optimal state of balance and comfort.
As you trust this process completely,
You have done all that is required.
Now simply receive.
Feel waves of gratitude guiding you to rest.
And as you thank yourself for this profound act of self-care,
I will count you down,
Now guiding you into the deepest,
Most restorative sleep.
Let each number carry you further down into the comfort and quietude of healing rest.
Deeper and deeper into rest.
Deeper and deeper into rest.
Nothing but peace.
Feeling completely safe and secure.
Perfectly still.
Your body growing heavy,
Melting into comfort.
Surrendering to sleep.

Perfect timing! I got sciatica for the first time Friday & couldn’t walk or sleep due to the pain. Today I saw your new track & fell asleep for a deep sleep nap this afternoon. I feel much better & the pain has subsided enough for me to walk slowly. I will definitely be playing this again tonight! Thank you kindly Michelle for this gift of healing sleep. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
