Take a moment to ensure that you are settled comfortably.

Adjust your position if necessary.

Close your eyes gently and bring your attention to your breath.

Just concentrating on your breathing.

Focusing upon taking deep breaths slowly,

Calmly,

Peacefully.

Nothing else matters at this moment.

Just focusing on your breath.

Your body is doing it all by itself.

We are now going to go on a journey in your mind to a calm lake.

Picture that you are stood on the shore of a lake.

Your feet are bare and beneath you you can feel the soft golden sand.

When you look around you can see tall lush green trees.

Various colors of green,

Impressive wonderful trees and you can smell pine and other rich spicy scents of other trees.

The earth feels so fresh.

Take in a deep breath.

Breathe in the fresh smell of the woodland.

So clean and soothing.

The smell is making you feel at peace.

Straight in front of you there is a lake.

The water is crystal clear and the sun rays are sparkling on the surface.

It feels marvelous just standing here next to the lake surrounded by the awesome tall green trees looking onto the water.

You notice that there is a raft tied up on the shoreline near to you and you begin to make your way towards it.

With each step you take feel in the soft sand beneath your feet and in between your toes.

The raft is new and perfectly safe.

It is so wide that you could sit on it with all of your friends.

In the middle of the raft there is a large silky cushion in your favorite color.

It looks so inviting and comfortable.

You know you are safe and that the raft is tied safely to the shore.

So you climb slowly and steady onto the raft.

It is so secure that it doesn't even wobble when you get on it.

You lay back and make yourself comfortable on the cushion.

It feels so soft and velvety and you are pleased that you can lay on it.

The sun is shining at just the right temperature and warming your face and body.

You can hear birds singing cheerfully in the distance.

Their birdsong makes you feel happy and you begin to smile.

You can also hear the occasional fish jumping out of the water and making a splash as they dive back in.

The odd cloud is floating past looking like small balls of cotton wool.

It is so quiet and calm here.

Occasionally birds fly past high in the sky.

This is such a calm and restful place and you feel extremely delighted to be here.

Just listening to the birds singing,

Feeling the Sun warm your body and breathing in the fresh clean air.

You feel totally relaxed and at ease.

Your mind is clear and you are focused.

Just rest here a moment and when you are ready have a good stretch and open your eyes.

Nice, calming visual for children. Might have been nice to hear some birds chirping & singing in background when they are mentioned. Will play for Granddaughter on her next sleepover.
