This meditation is intended to bring your awareness to the present moment.
Take a moment to think about all the things in life you will experience one last time.
There will come a day when you die,
And everything will have been done one last time.
Before you die,
You will stop having certain experiences.
Experiences you may be taking for granted,
Like riding your bike or swimming in the ocean.
We tend to take even beautiful moments for granted.
And the rest of the time,
We're just trying to get through things.
Trying to get to the end of whatever we're experiencing.
Know,
However,
Each time you do something fulfilling or unfulfilling,
That is one last time.
Over the last few years,
I've experienced people close to me pass away.
This made me remember the one last time we saw each other,
Laughed together.
It made me realize how important it is to be present.
The way her hair smelled when I hugged her.
Or how his cologne smelled,
And his hugs were way too long.
A few days ago,
When I met with some friends,
I soaked up all of the moments.
Knowing it could have been one last time.
This practice requires paying attention to the moments we are in with the people we are with.
This moment is all we have.
I invite you to find presence in every moment.
Take a few deep breaths.
Invite in gratitude.
Invite in love.
I hope to see you again.
