Self and other. Other and self. These are the moments of inclusivity for the benefit of wellbeing through generosity. With the intention of stabilizing the bodymind, practice takes the form of a mindfulness-based present moment awareness. This is followed by a visualization intended to stimulate an open-hearted exchange of well-being rooted in kindness and compassion.

Pause.

Breathing generously.

Sinking into the body.

Leaning towards the possibility of acceptance of that which is.

Leaning towards the qualities of nowness and hereness.

This and only this.

This body.

This mind.

This heart.

And having settled into yourself.

Having been grounded in the stillness.

Opening to these words.

May I be strong.

May I have the power to accept and forgive.

May I live and die in peace.

May I be safe.

May I love and appreciate others boundlessly.

Others such as family members and friends.

Perhaps it's beneficial right now to name some of them.

Those in your life you hold dear.

Sensing their presence.

And the intimacy of togetherness.

And these words now for their benefit.

May you be safe.

May you live long.

May you achieve what you want and deserve in life.

May you have the power to accept your anger and sadness.

May you be healthy and safe always.

And now inviting into your awareness other people in your life.

Real people with real lives of their own.

People you may come into contact with daily.

The supermarket cashiers.

The petrol attendants offering to wash your windscreen.

People stuck in traffic with you on the highway.

Your co-workers.

Your neighbours.

And the neighbours of your neighbours.

Whose lives may be very different to yours and still very much the same in some ways.

May you also be safe.

May you live long.

May you achieve what you want and deserve in life.

May you have the power to accept your anger and sadness.

May you be healthy and safe always.

And now having offered these words of compassion and kindness to people close in your life and those on the periphery.

Noticing what this has activated inside your body,

Mind and heart.

Noticing the state of your own being now.

And perhaps there is tenderness.

Perhaps there is numbness.

There may even be resistance to this practice.

Whatever it is that you find.

Even the lack of feeling.

Turning towards that experience now,

Your own personal,

Individual,

Precious experience.

Turning towards yourself.

With curiosity and care.

May I be strong.

May I have the power to accept and forgive.

May I live and die in peace.

May I be safe.

May I love and appreciate others boundlessly.

May I be strong.
