This guided meditation invites you to come fully into your experience, gently acknowledging and accepting what youโ€™re feeling. By breathing space into your unpleasant feelings, creating room for them to exist, what you find is the peace that was always here. It's when we stop fighting our experience and relax into it that we find peace. Music courtesy Alan Frijns at Pixabay.

This meditation is to help you come into your experience,

To know what it is that you're feeling,

To accept what you're feeling and to find the spaciousness and the peace within the accepting of what it is that's here.

So find a comfortable position,

Close your eyes and we'll begin with a few deep breaths in through the nose and out through your mouth.

Inhaling deeply,

Expanding your abdomen,

Opening up the chest and as you exhale,

Purse your lips as if you're breathing out through a straw,

Letting all the air leave your lungs.

Just take two more breaths like that on your own,

And now allow your breath to be natural,

Inhaling and exhaling through your nose,

Feeling your breath as it moves through your body and become aware of what it is that you're feeling right now.

If there's some tension,

Some stress,

Some anxiety,

Whatever it is that you're feeling,

Simply to be aware and to allow it to be.

If you notice there's some tightness,

A pressure,

Some nervous energy,

Intentionally as you inhale,

Imagine you're creating some space for these physical sensations,

And as you exhale,

A sense of relaxing into these sensations,

You're not trying to change anything,

To push anything away,

But instead to be fully here with your experience,

Creating space for what's here on each inhale,

Softening around your experience with each exhale,

Inhaling mindfully,

Aware of your experience,

Exhaling mindfully,

Relaxing into your experience.

We're often moving so fast,

We forget the breath is here,

And yet it will always guide us back to the peace that is always here,

Even within our unpleasant sensations.

When we stop fighting them,

When we acknowledge them and create space for them,

We find the peace that was always here.

Just rest here for a few more moments,

Feeling the peace and the calm of the present moment.

Namaste.
