Welcome to day 27 of Insight Timers Intention Setting Challenge.

Setting an intention is making a decision about who you want to be and how you choose to show up.

Over time,

Those choices become change.

Let's begin.

Hello and welcome to day 25 of Insight Timers Intention Setting Challenge.

My name is Melissa Ambrosini,

And today we are exploring the power of listening.

The kind that helps us truly hear another person,

Not just wait for our turn to speak.

Really listening is an act of presence.

It's choosing to slow down,

Soften your attention,

And let someone's words land before you form a response.

When we listen this way,

We create space for a deeper connection,

Understanding and honesty.

It's a simple shift that can change the tone of an entire conversation.

So the intention we are working with today is,

Today I'll listen to understand,

Not to answer.

If you can,

Gently close your eyes and get comfortable.

Let your hands rest in your lap,

And take a deep breath in through your nose,

Hold at the top,

And slowly exhale through your nose.

Again,

Breathing in,

Hold,

And gently breathing out.

Let your shoulders drop,

Let your jaw soften,

Let your belly relax.

Now bring your awareness to the sounds around you.

No need to label them as good or bad,

Just notice.

What is the closest sound?

What is the furthest away sound?

What are the subtle sounds in between?

See if you can listen without attaching or reaching for a story.

Without planning what you'll do next.

Simply,

Receive.

Sound arrives,

You notice,

Then it passes.

Now place one hand on your heart,

Feel the warmth beneath your palm.

Silently repeat to yourself.

Today I listen to understand,

Not to answer.

Let those words really sink in.

Feel what they mean inside your body.

Imagine someone you love sitting in front of you.

See their face,

Their eyes,

Their posture.

Picture yourself listening to them with your whole heart.

You're not fixing,

You're not rushing in with advice or your opinion.

You're not checking your phone or drifting away.

You are simply there,

Fully there.

Breathe deeply.

Open your body.

Soften your heart.

If your mind wanders,

That's okay.

Just notice it and gently come back to your breath.

Come back to the hand on your heart.

Come back to your intention.

Today I listen to understand,

Not to answer.

Take one more deep breath in.

Hold.

Slowly release through your nose.

And know that you can return to this quality of listening at any moment today.

With others and also with yourself.

When you're ready,

You can start to wiggle your fingers and your toes.

Gently blink your eyes open.

Bringing this beautiful intention with you into the rest of your day.

As you move through your day,

Notice the moments when you can pause long enough to truly hear someone.

Their tone,

Their meaning,

The feeling beneath their words.

Giving your full listening is one of the most generous things you can offer.

Remember,

Today I'll listen to understand,

Not to answer.

Now on the next few screens,

The simple act of seeing your intention reflected back throughout the day is enough to create huge change.
