Hello and welcome to this meditation.
Please find a comfortable seat and settle in.
Whether you're kneeling or cross-legged,
Perhaps sitting on a chair,
Whatever feels best for your body today,
Settle in and find some ease through your body just as best as you can.
Once you arrive,
Just take some gentle movement through your body,
A little sway side to side,
Settling into your seat.
You could even give your shoulders a nice big roll up,
Back and down to find a lift of your heart.
Notice a gentle lengthening of your spine from your tailbone all the way up to the crown of your head.
Find a slight tuck of your chin and allow your face to soften.
Allow your jaw to soften.
Notice as your scalp softens,
Your neck and throat relax,
Your shoulders relax.
There's a softening travelling all the way from the tops of your shoulders all the way down your arms,
Down down to your fingertips.
Bring your awareness back up to the top of the chest,
The upper back,
And allow your chest to soften.
Perhaps you lift your heart a little,
And soften the muscles of your upper back.
Allow your awareness now to travel to your belly.
Let it soften.
Soften your lower back.
Notice where there's any tightness or tension where you can let go a little.
Softening down through the pelvis,
The outer hips,
Letting go of tension.
And allow a softness to wash down from the tops of your legs all the way down past your knees,
Down your lower legs,
And past your ankles to your feet.
Softening all the way down to the tips of your toes.
From here,
Take a nice big inhale through your nose.
Fill up your lungs and hold the breath at the top and exhale through the mouth,
Letting go with a sigh.
And again,
Nice big inhale through your nose.
Fill up the lungs and hold your breath at the top.
Exhale through the mouth,
Sighing,
Letting go.
And take one more big breath like that,
Just in your own time.
Allow your shoulders to soften.
Allow your belly to soften.
Allow your heart to soften.
Can you make some space around your heart?
Can you breathe a little deeper to your chest to feel an expansion of your ribcage in all directions?
And taking a few rounds of breath here,
Breathing to your heart,
Feeling a beautiful expanse,
A sense of spaciousness around your heart,
Your beautiful heart.
Notice if there's any resistance to creating space to an expansion around your heart.
And notice with great care,
With loving awareness,
With the warmth of pure compassion,
Notice and allow.
Allow your heart to be exactly as it is,
Whether your heart is in the full bloom of love and openness,
Or perhaps it's closed down,
Its petals closed.
Both are just part of life.
It's the interplay of life,
The expansion and the contraction.
And we curl in to protect ourselves.
We expand outwards when we feel safe.
However your heart is,
Just hold it with a kind attention.
Know that love is there always.
And if your heart were a beautiful rose,
Even the tightest bud holds the potential,
It holds beauty.
A rose bud is beauty.
A rose opening up is beauty.
And a rose fully expanded is beauty.
And your heart represents beauty,
The love that exists within you.
Notice how it feels to become aware of your heart.
Notice how it feels physically.
Notice your breath.
Is it more shallow and jagged?
Is it smooth and deep?
Just noticing,
Allowing whatever is to be.
Let your heart be.
Now can you zoom your awareness out as if you could see your entire body?
Can you notice the rose of love existing within you?
Can you see it there?
Can you see the love that exists within you?
No matter the state of bloom of your heart,
There's love always.
And what is the colour of your rose?
See the rose in your heart,
In your mind's eye,
It's beautiful colour.
Now with each breath you take,
Can you imagine,
Can you feel,
Sense and know that that colour representing love is radiating out in all directions?
You inhale to your heart centre,
Exhale,
Soften and see the colour of love of your rose expanding out in all directions.
Breathing into your heart,
Breathing out,
Expanding love,
The colour of your rose in all directions.
Continuing with the breath,
Seeing love radiating out from the centre of your heart,
Expanding beyond your body.
Noticing how you feel,
What sensations,
Present in your body,
Around your heart,
Your throat.
Can you soften your body,
Soften your belly?
And how does it feel to saturate your entire body and beyond with love?
The unique love that can only come from you,
Your love radiating out into the collective love that exists within all of us.
We each have a little rose,
Or a big rose,
As a bard,
Perhaps in full bloom or somewhere in between.
We are love,
You are love.
Allow your shoulders to soften.
Gently blinking open your eyes,
Allowing light in.
Notice the earth beneath you,
The support underneath you.
Feel into and know that love is always within you,
Always.
