Hello,
Beautiful souls,
And welcome to this earthly diversity meditation,
Where we will sail over the earth,
Taking in some of the most beautiful wonders in order to realize our connectedness to all things and all people.
Cherishing our similarities more than our differences.
Recognizing the beautiful diversity of others and of this planet,
And to celebrate its expression.
As we begin this meditation,
Please find your most comfortable position.
This meditation is best enjoyed while sitting or laying down.
Hands can rest lightly on your knees or by your sides.
Only practicing when you're in a safe environment to do so.
I now invite you to close your eyes.
Now begin to imagine that you are gazing down at the earth from space.
You can see the beautiful blue waters of our ocean,
The green lush vegetation,
And the clouds sweeping over the land.
There is no separation of countries,
No borders to be seen.
There is just our earth,
Our home.
You notice how magnificent and peaceful it is.
How full of life.
Now you begin to fly and almost soar down into earth's atmosphere.
And as you arrive,
You notice that you are floating over the Amazon rainforest.
You can hear all of the noises of the forest,
The chirping of the birds and wildlife.
You hear the rainbow colored macaw and the howler monkeys.
You see a jaguar as you peek through the treetops.
Falling over this forest,
You can smell the leaves and feel the moisture in your nostrils as you inhale.
It's just brimming with life.
Now soaring over the earth and arriving over the clear waters of Bora Bora.
Just taking in the sight of the clear,
Turquoise water.
You can see every shell,
Every fish,
The dolphins and the turtles swimming in the water.
You see the crabs crawling along the shores.
You see the people in the huts along the water.
You can smell the salty water and feel the salty breeze against your face.
Just witnessing its beauty.
Now soaring over the earth once more arriving at the plains of the Serengeti in Africa.
Witnessing the earthly smell of dirt in your nostrils.
That grounding and fresh smell similar to that of a freshly potted plant.
Seeing the elephants as they graze.
Seeing the lions lay in the grass and the zebras running with their herds as they seem to almost float over the land.
Just witnessing this scene.
And now soaring towards your favorite city.
This could be the city where you currently live or one in which you wish to reside.
Or a city from your past.
As we arrive we witness this city from high above.
Seeing all of the homes and all of the people roaming about.
Simply seeing rivers and lakes or the tall buildings of an urban landscape or more of a rural setting.
Noticing from high above there is no conflict.
Seeing the earth exactly how it is.
Peaceful and quiet.
Yet brimming with life.
So magnetically and overwhelmingly beautiful.
Realizing deeply that we all share this beautiful and glorious planet.
We all call this planet home.
And just as the elephants and zebras don't see themselves as one being more important than the other,
So should we.
Realizing we are one entity of the human race.
Not one country better than the other,
Not one race,
Not one gender,
Not one sexual orientation,
Not one belief system,
Not one upbringing.
Realizing we are all just humans.
Going down now even closer to enter your home.
This could be your current home,
A childhood home,
Or just a place you feel safe and at ease.
Seeing this space filled with the people who have loved you throughout your life.
Your family,
Friends,
And pets from the past or the present.
Possibly filled with all of the people who you have yet to meet,
But who will love you.
Feeling the energy of this place and the immense joy and gratitude you have for their being.
For their existence.
So thankful that these humans or these animals exist.
Realizing that we all share this beautiful planet in this wonderful space and time.
And our countries and cities might at times experience upheaval.
But realizing that change is always preceded by chaos.
May we remember our brothers and sisters,
Animal friends,
And nature during this time and honor their importance.
These other entities being just as important as ourselves.
Just as the rainforest is dependent on other elements throughout its forest to survive.
We are dependent on each other to experience a life worth living.
The diversity of this planet making such a beautiful tapestry and something to be cherished.
Something to be regarded and treated as the miraculous.
Now taking a moment to picture all of the places we visited and all of the people we've seen sending them gratitude.
Thanking yourself for having the capacity to notice and celebrate the immense beauty of our diverse planet and the diversity of ourselves.
When you're ready,
Slowly starting to bring movement back into the fingers and toes.
You may stretch your arms overhead and then roll to your favorite side.
Slowly pushing up into seated and if you'd like bringing your hands to heart center.
May we recognize the diversity of others and of this planet and celebrate its expression.
Namaste.
