Welcome everyone.
This is a meditation for children.
I hope you may enjoy it as a family or as a small group.
It's called heartbeat.
Let's begin by standing or sitting in a comfortable position and feeling the stillness in your body.
Close your eyes and place one or both hands over your heart.
Keep your hand there and feel the rhythm of your heartbeat.
With the beat of your heart,
Let's take a few deep breaths together.
We're going to inhale for a few seconds and exhale for a few seconds.
Inhale in and exhale out.
While you're here with your hands on your heart and your eyes closed,
Try to imagine your heart is a compass with four points on it.
It points to joy,
Kindness,
Courage,
And calm.
With the beat of your heart,
Let's tune in and speak the words on your heart compass.
I am joy.
I am kind.
I am courage.
I am calm.
Take another deep breath and let's tune in one more time.
Inhale in and exhale out.
I am joy.
I am kind.
I am courage.
I am calm.
As you breathe in all these good words and these good feelings,
Open your eyes and smile.
Wiggle your fingers and your toes and feel the joy,
Kindness,
Courage,
And calm that's inside of you.
Remember to tune into your heart compass anytime.
