Settle into your body now and close your eyes.
This is not a deep emotional session.
This is a learning session.
There is nothing to dig into,
Nothing to relive,
Nothing to resolve.
We are simply tuning in.
Let your body find a comfortable position,
A supported position.
Notice your breath as it is,
No correction,
No effort.
And remind yourself gently,
Today I'm learning how my system works.
As you continue breathing,
Begin to bring your awareness out of your thoughts and into physical sensation.
Notice the weight of your body.
The contact points with the surface beneath you.
The temperature,
The pressure.
This is where anger shows up first,
Not in the mind,
But in the body.
The body always knows before the story does.
Let your awareness become curious,
Not critical.
Continue to pay attention to any physical sensations in and around you.
And as you are there,
I am going to count from 1 to 10.
And at the count of 10,
You will be in a deep,
Relaxed state.
1.
Feeling calm.
2.
3.
.
.
Or 5… more and more relaxed… 6… 7… 8… 9 and 10.
You are now more relaxed than you were before.
I now want you to let this idea settle,
Not as a theory,
But as a felt understanding.
Anger is not a character flaw.
It is a nervous system response.
When the system perceives threat,
Disrespect,
Overwhelm,
Or loss of control,
Energy mobilizes.
Heart rate changes.
Breath shifts.
Muscles prepare.
This happens before thought.
Most people don't lose control because they're angry.
They lose control because they don't notice when anger begins.
Today you are learning to notice the beginning.
Now gently bring your mind to a mild irritation,
Not a big trigger,
Not something overwhelming,
Just something neutral enough to observe.
As you hold it in your mind lightly,
Notice what happens in your body.
Do you analyze?
Do you judge?
Just notice.
Tightening in the jaw,
Pressure in the chest,
Heat in the face,
Shallow breaths.
Clenching in the hands,
Restlessness.
These are signals,
Not problems.
You are not meant to stop them.
You are meant to recognize them.
The earlier you notice,
The more choice you have.
Stay here for a few breaths,
Simply observing.
Now I want you to notice this.
There is a point where irritation becomes activation.
A threshold.
Before the threshold,
Awareness is available and choice does exist.
After the threshold,
Reaction takes over.
Today we are mapping your threshold.
Ask yourself quietly,
What tells me I am close?
It may be speed of speech,
Tension,
Urge to interrupt,
Urge to withdraw,
Urge to fix or attack.
Let your system answer in sensation,
Not words.
What tells me I am close?
You Now let your body practice something new.
Notice an early signal again,
Just once.
And instead of ignoring it,
Instead of reacting,
You simply stay present.
You breathe,
You feel your feet,
And you remain in your body.
Nothing else is required.
This is regulation,
Not suppression,
Not expression.
Presence.
Let your system feel what it is like to notice anger without being overtaken by it.
I now want you to let this truth settle.
Anger doesn't need to be stopped,
It needs to be noticed.
Early awareness is power,
Not control,
But choice.
You are not trying to be calm.
You are learning to be present sooner.
That's it.
In a moment,
I'm going to count from one to five.
And while I count,
I want you to bring awareness back to the room,
Back to your breath,
And back to your body.
One,
Two,
Three.
3… 4… and 5… You can return to this session anytime,
Especially when you want to strengthen your ability to catch anger early.
