I'm Heidi.
It's wonderful to have you here as we practice letting go of the need to perform and come home to your inner power and confidence.
Recently,
I was talking with my niece before her basketball game about performance anxiety she was feeling in her body with things like,
Will I be good enough?
Will I let my teammates down?
I noticed she was running play-by-plays in her head trying to script it all out like a coach with a playbook.
And you know,
The same stress shows up for us too before meetings or presentations or any moment we feel we have to show up a certain way.
Your body may feel like knots are in your gut,
The racing heart,
The clamped throat,
All keeping you stuck in loops about the future,
Running play-by-plays.
And just as I said to her,
The best moves are made in the moment when you're connected and grounded to yourself,
Not stuck in your head trying to control the future.
So let's move some energy together,
Come home to your own inner power and confidence,
All that is available in this present moment and always.
So we get started here,
Let's roll your shoulders,
Breathe in a deep breath and exhale with that sharp stick your tongue out if you want and feel that release in the back of your throat of all that junk,
Let it out.
As you breathe in through your nose,
Feeling your belly expand,
And release,
And breathing in and out in any natural rhythm for you,
And settling in,
Dropping into your body.
Imagine a grounding cord from the base of your spine,
Grounding you and anchoring you,
Holding you to Mother Earth.
Now let's bring the awareness of this performance energy that we've been holding,
And start by imagining a flower in front of you.
This flower is a neutral container for all the should energy,
Pressure,
The mental looping.
This can be any flower,
No matter its shape,
Or size,
Or color.
And now we're going to toss all of this performance energy into the flower like we're shooting baskets.
Take that looping conversation about what you should do,
Toss that ball of energy into the flower,
Or that rechecking of the list of what you should do over and over.
Throw all of that into this flower like a big swoosh,
Nothing but net.
Are those moments you replay a time when you felt like you messed up?
Bank that shot right into the flower.
Have some fun.
Tossing all of this in and score some points for yourself as you feel more space in your body.
Throw all of those basketballs of energy into the flower.
And if at any point you're unable to see,
That's okay.
Let the intention,
The words,
And the feelings move through you.
That's what matters.
Do observe this flower grow and change and take all this performance stress with it.
Letting this flower float up and let it float far out into the universe,
Far,
Far away.
Bursting into small pieces,
Letting it go.
Breathe and take a moment to notice any shifts in your body after letting this pressure and this need to perform release.
Notice the lightness,
The spaciousness.
Move,
Let that energy release,
And now let's activate that inner power and confidence energy throughout your body.
Imagine yourself arriving at this moment and starting at the base of your spine.
Feel into that stable,
Solid energy like a tree with deep roots.
Let these words run through you.
I am ready.
Feel the stable and groundedness from here.
And rising into your belly where creativity and flow want to move,
Can meet this moment with playfulness.
Letting the words,
I am inspiring.
Move through you.
Notice any softening and opening.
Moving into your core,
That space below your ribs where those knots are,
But it's also where your confidence lives.
Feel the warmth spreading here.
The words,
I can do this,
Move through you.
Feel the warmth of this flame glow here.
Moving up into your chest as it expands and your heart opens.
Letting the words,
I trust myself.
Move through you.
Feel into this expansion.
Moving up into your throat as it releases.
And you notice your voice has room here.
Letting the words,
My words flow naturally,
Move through you.
And feel the spaciousness.
As you move up into the space between your eyebrows,
All that looping,
Settling into clarity.
I know where I'm going.
Move through you.
Feel this ease.
And from here,
Imagine a golden sun,
Big,
Bright,
And gold above your head.
It's bright,
It's warm,
Expansive.
Imagine it growing bigger and bigger.
Gently poke a hole in the sun with your finger and let all that gold from the sun pour down into your crown,
The top of your head,
Like a golden liquid shower.
As it goes through your head,
Down into your throat,
Your chest,
Belly,
Arms,
Hands,
And fingers,
Through your hips and your legs,
Your feet and your toes.
And as this gold showers you,
Feel your essence,
Your energy,
The confidence,
Playfulness,
Levity.
Letting your beautiful presence radiate outward.
Imagining or feeling this radiate out into the room.
Your beautiful presence radiates into the building,
Into the neighborhood.
If you choose out as far as it feels good for you today,
You are perfect exactly as you are.
You're confident,
Playful,
Beautiful,
Grounded,
And ready.
And come back to this meditation to find a slam dunk back to the present moment and your inner power whenever you feel that wound up performance energy.
