Oh,
The to-do list.
Do you have those days where going through your to-do list you think,
I checked stuff off,
Why don't I feel less overwhelmed?
Why do I still feel like this?
Well sometimes it could be due to an energy that's still around.
A lot of times checking off that list hoping for the dopamine fix might help,
But other times it might be an energy that's still stuck around you.
And I know there's those days that you feel like you're walking through that forest and those trees are everywhere and you can't see a path out.
You can't see the clearing.
You think knocking down off that to-do list is like knocking another tree down and yet you look up and you can't see anything different than before.
It's just a bunch of trees blocking the view.
So today let's work on what's really blocking the view and move some energy.
As we get started I invite you to grab anything you may need to feel safe and comfortable.
Placing your hands in your lap and starting to settle in,
Closing your eyes or resting them with a soft gaze.
As you do start taking some deep breaths.
Inhaling down through your chest and to your belly.
A slower exhale out.
And as you settle in,
Bring awareness to your third eye.
As you imagine yourself walking through a forest.
Big,
Dense trees all around.
And as you walk,
What do you notice?
Are those tall or short trees?
Thin or thick trunks?
A lot of leaves or branches?
Maybe a little animal or two?
And as you walk,
Is there one tree that catches your attention?
And as this tree becomes apparent,
Bring the tree into a bubble.
With that awareness in your third eye,
Just observe this tree in a bubble.
What does it look like?
Maybe some colors or textures that still are moving.
And just observing.
There's no right or wrong.
We're just allowing space.
No need to think or wonder.
Just observe.
Maybe there's a lot of leaves or just a few.
Small branches or thick branches.
Curly or straight.
Separate or all twined together.
Observing with neutrality,
Allowing whatever to come.
And as it starts having some more space,
You may start to notice this overwhelm.
Maybe there's some frustration energy,
Perfection energy,
Maybe even some scared energy.
May or may not,
There's no right or wrong.
The overwhelm of the to-do list may be masking the energy that's behind the sensations you're having.
And therefore just letting it move and show itself.
Nothing for you to do,
But observe and allow.
There's no right or wrong energy.
Just allowing the movement.
Take a deep breath if you need.
Watching it change.
Sometimes when we're checking off our list,
It helps to consider that there may be some energy to move.
Some days this might need to be done a few times.
Clear a few of these trees so you can feel lighter and clearer,
More efficient and less sluggish as you go through your list and become aware of some energy that might be there.
And just allow it to move and be.
When you're ready,
You can pop your bubble and let it go.
Take a deep breath.
Wiggle your fingers and toes.
Maybe a big yawn or a stretch as you come back.
Another deep breath.
