Hello,
I'm Heidi,
And I'm so glad you're here with me,
Honoring time for yourself.
Lately,
Have you been busy doing,
Doing,
Doing,
Hoping the more you do,
The faster you do,
The easier it will get,
Eventually?
Yes,
I can relate.
The errands,
Never-ending list of to-dos,
And adding more to the plate,
That sense of constant busyness.
It lives in your belly,
Your chest,
Throat.
That jittery,
Constant hum,
Keeping you restless,
Keeping you moving,
Doing,
Never quite stopping.
The,
I should be doing more,
I must be productive or everything will fall apart.
Or that,
If I just push through this,
It will get better.
It's like taking a bunch of flights,
Trying to get to a destination,
Yet stuck at a congested airport.
Or wanting that direct flight home to go through the day with more spaciousness.
Here's what I've learned,
Is I think busyness will get us somewhere,
That if we just do enough,
We'll finally arrive at feeling worthy,
Feeling like we matter.
But it's actually the opposite.
Worth isn't in the doing,
It's in the being.
And today,
I'm going to help you remember.
We're going to explore how to move from all those flights,
That scattered,
Congested busyness up in the mind,
And finding that direct flight home to yourself,
That spacious place where you can just be.
So let's begin.
Let's start by letting some of that busyness energy move out.
As you start to settle,
You might want to shake your hands a little,
Or roll your shoulders,
Maybe a big sigh,
Where you let that air come through those vocal cords with some noise.
Let that out.
Whatever works for you.
Releasing what needs to be done.
What needs to be released.
Now,
As you start to settle in,
And take some deep breaths,
Breathing in through your nose,
Feeling your belly expand,
And releasing.
Dropping into your body,
Imagine a grounding cord from the base of your spine down deep into Mother Earth,
Grounding you,
Anchoring you,
Holding you.
Moving to your heart center.
And sit here.
Do you feel the warmth of your heart?
Letting it radiate out to yourself with some compassion,
Kindness,
Love.
Knowing you're here,
And you're safe,
And you can slow down in this moment.
Moving down into your body,
Do you sense this need for busyness?
Where does it live?
And just notice and feel into this spot,
Sending it some love.
Now,
Bringing awareness into your mind's eye,
Imagining an open wilderness.
Maybe it's a wide meadow,
Or the open plain under the big sky.
And as you stand in this space,
The Earth beneath you,
The sky above you,
Space all around,
Fresh air,
Natural sounds of the wind,
Birds,
Leaves rustling around.
It's a place of spaciousness beyond the doing,
A place where you can just be.
Take a moment to feel this and how open it is.
Looking around,
Noticing a boulder,
A big rock.
Take a seat and rest.
This rock holds you.
It's solid.
It's grounded.
It's safe.
And as you sit on this rock,
Watching the clouds,
Noticing one cloud that grabs your attention,
A cloud that represents this busyness and constant doing.
Just watch for a moment,
Noticing its movement,
Its energy.
Imagining this cloud gently lifting and entering a bubble,
A clear bubble that's floating right in front of you with the cloud inside.
Allowing this bubble is like a container,
Letting you observe this cloud of busyness from a safe,
Grounded distance.
You're on a solid rock,
And the cloud is there,
Contained in a bubble,
So you can witness it with some curiosity.
No judgment,
No good or bad,
Just neutrality to whatever arises.
How is this cloud moving?
What is the texture or color?
And you may not see,
But have a sense of information.
In whatever form that may be appearing,
Let it be.
What does this cloud show you about busyness and the doing?
As it speaks in whatever way,
Through an image,
A feeling,
A knowing.
Is it moving fast?
Maybe it's frozen.
Maybe it's trying to hide and not be seen.
Whatever it shows you,
Just observe and check in on your breath.
Notice if there's any resistance in your body,
Any part of you that doesn't want to look too closely.
If there is,
That's okay.
Hold it with love.
It's been protecting you,
And you're safe here.
Allowing any of that resistance to just move,
Letting it be.
No grasping or holding,
Just letting it go and be.
Maybe some energy of avoidance or proving,
Trying to do it right.
Hiding so you don't have to show a part of yourself.
The more you do,
The more successful you are.
Let the,
I should be doing something,
Fall out of the cloud like raindrops.
Letting them go.
Letting the,
I'm not enough unless,
Blow away in the wind.
Breathe and just be.
Breathe and just be.
You don't have to do anything right now.
Breathe and just be.
In this moment,
You are enough exactly as you are.
Breathe and just be.
You're grounded on this rock,
And you're safe with mother earth.
Allowing the energy of these thoughts and beliefs to transform and release from this cloud.
Observing,
Releasing,
Shifting.
And take a breath and allow this cloud to show you any last little insights.
Thank it for what it's showing you.
Then you can pop the bubble and let it go,
Exploding far,
Far away,
Dissolving out into space,
Letting all of that energy leave.
And notice any shifts you feel in your body,
The permission to slow down.
You are safe in your stillness.
You don't have to earn your worth.
Bringing all of that permission into your heart.
Feeling your worth within,
And thank the rock for holding you steady and safe.
Maybe you got a clear sense of what needs to shift,
Or this was harder to connect with,
And that's okay.
This isn't another thing to add to your list or beat yourself up about.
It's about being willing to pause,
Explore the pattern,
And that in itself is enough.
And continuing to ask,
What are you avoiding by staying busy?
What do you actually need?
Allowing those answers to come.
And start to wiggle your fingers and toes and come back.
Take a deep breath,
Opening your eyes when you're ready.
And when you get caught up in the doing and the busyness,
There's oftentimes these moments when you need most to come inward,
Be present and connect with yourself.
Slowing down isn't lazy.
It's brave.
It's bringing you back to yourself beyond the doing so you can live from a more spacious space.
And when you catch yourself in this busyness spiral with all these connecting flights,
Come back to the meditation.
Find your spacious space for a direct flight home into knowing your inherent worth.
And I thank you for taking this time to slow down.
I'd love to hear what shifted for you in this practice or any insights that came through.
Leave a comment and let me know.
And I look forward to meditating with you again.
Take care.
