Hello and welcome to your breathwork session.
My name is MB and I am so happy to be with you today.
If you are new to breathwork,
Welcome.
This is a beautiful practice and I'm looking forward to guiding you.
If you've done breathwork before,
I hope that this session serves as reinforcement to the foundation you already have in place for your practice.
Breathwork is the simple act of being aware of the way in which we're breathing and with that awareness,
Consciously choosing how we breathe in order to change how we feel.
One of the things I love most about breathwork is the connection we establish between our breath and our body.
Our bodies are fascinating on so many levels,
But one of the things I appreciate most about having a breathwork practice is it reminds me just how powerful our breath is.
Did you know that our breath is the only system in our body that is both automatic and controlled?
This means that it will function by itself without us having to think about it,
But we can also harness its power if and when we want to.
Every emotional state that we experience in our bodies has a corresponding breath pattern,
And it's through our breath that we are able to connect to ourselves in a really meaningful way.
If breathwork is new to you,
I'm sure you're wondering,
Why would you practice breathwork?
Some benefits of breathwork include relief from stress and anxiety almost immediately,
A deep connection to your emotions,
Which allows you to respond to them in a healthy way,
Increased energy,
Mental clarity,
The release of stuck emotions or feelings in the body,
Access to deeper states of feeling,
Peace,
Love,
Joy,
Contentment.
And best of all,
There is no equipment needed.
All you need is you.
Before we begin,
I encourage our time together today to be in a space that is quiet and free of distraction for you.
You are more than welcome to sit anywhere that's comfortable or if laying down feels better for you today,
That's also an option.
Feel free to rest your hands on your body or alongside you.
Once you're settled in,
I invite you to close your eyes.
If closing your eyes doesn't feel good to you today,
You're welcome to simply look down your nose.
In the first few moments of our practice today,
I invite you to just notice your breath or the way in which you naturally breathe.
Where in your body are you breathing from?
Maybe it's your shoulders.
Maybe you're taking shallow or short breaths in your chest.
Or maybe you're breathing deeply into your belly.
Wherever you're at today without judgment,
Simply just observe where in your body your breath is.
As humans,
We are naturally very shallow breathers,
Breathing from the chest up.
And in breath work,
We get to dive deeper into the full capacity of our respiratory system.
As you continue to settle in,
Can you see if you can deepen your breath just a little bit more?
Breathing in through your nose and exhaling out of your mouth.
If you're naturally breathing from your shoulders up,
Can you see if you can breathe a little deeper into your chest?
If you're breathing from your chest up,
Can you see if you can breathe a little bit deeper into your belly?
And if you're breathing in your belly,
Can you see if you can breathe all the way down to your feet?
Honoring wherever you're at today,
Reminding yourself that there's nothing to force.
As you continue to breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth,
Allow yourself to just hang out here with your breath,
Noticing what it feels like to be in your body right now.
Inhale through your nose.
Exhale out of your mouth.
Inhale through your nose.
Exhale out of your mouth.
Inhale through your nose.
Exhale out of your mouth.
Continuing to focus on your breath and noticing what areas of your body can you begin to release tension in as you continue to inhale and exhale.
Again,
Reminding yourself that there is nothing to force or push through,
Simply allowing the inhales to come in through your nose and to leave through your mouth,
Relaxing,
Releasing,
Surrendering.
We'll now move into a breathing exercise that includes an inhale through your nose,
A hold at the top of your inhale,
And an exhale out of your mouth.
We will do this for eight rounds together.
And all you need to do is listen to my voice and breathe,
Staying exactly as you are.
Whenever you're ready,
Take a deep breath in through your nose,
Breathing as deeply as your body wants you to go today.

Releasing the breath pattern and coming back to your natural breath.
Allowing your inhales and exhales to be effortless.
As your breath returns to its natural state,
Just pause.
Notice how you're feeling right now.
Allowing yourself to stay present with whatever your body wants you to feel.
Knowing that it's safe to be here.
Safe to breathe.
Safe to be in your body.
Surrendering any tension,
Any resistance,
Any worry,
Any doubt to the present moment.
Allowing yourself to be surrounded by peace,
Love,
Joy,
And trust.
Take another deep breath in through the nose and hold.
Continuing to hold for 10,

And release and exhale out of your mouth.
Slowly,
Softly,
Gently opening your eyes.
Bringing your awareness back into the space.
Looking around the room or wherever you may be.
And just feeling into the energy that now surrounds you.
This state of peace that you're experiencing right now is available to you at any time simply through your breath.
May your practice today serve as a reminder to you of how wildly powerful and capable you are simply by being you.
Thank you so much for inviting me to join you today.
I look forward to breathing with you again soon.
Bye for now.

That was lovely. Just what I needed to get started. Leading breathwork can be difficult because it’s often hard to pace it correctly but you nailed it. Thank you!

Surprisingly great! I liked the intro and didn't find it too long. Voice is very soothingand relaxing. Great audio quality (although I don't have headphones in). I did find the lead-up more relaxing than the counted breathwork though. I personally like longer exhales than inhales and would have preferred that. Excited to check out this teacher's other meditation! Highly recommend!
