I am not, and never have been, a huge fan of the beach (despite living relatively near the shore for a good chunk of my life) - I am far more of a mountain-type. I typically bypass beach-related practices as a result. They're simply not particularly restful or soothing to me in general.
I opted to engage with this one, though, because I was intrigued (as a former audio professional) by how footprints on the beach might be recorded. This promised not to be the standard waves/wind/birds/whale or dolphin/steel drums type of practice, thankfully. And such was the case.
Not only was I impressed with the quality of the recording under technically challenging conditions - salt water air can mess with all manner of equipment over time - but the practice itself was lovely. This is NOT related to the well-known "Footprints" poem, by the way. It is essentially asking one to remain mindful of how actions affect the world as the day moves along. What kind of footprints are we leaving behind us?
I am bookmarking this practice. Sometimes a single sentence resonates so deeply that it becomes indelible upon the mind. I have a few of those already. I have now added another, from this practice.
Thank you so much for sharing this practice with us here. I see the light in you. 🤲🏻❤️🤲🏻
