Meditation on preparing for surgery.
We are not here by accident.
We are here by divine appointment.
Breathe deeply,
Experience completely,
And feel freely.
Now take a delicious deep cleansing breath in and exhale.
Take another,
Breathe in and exhale.
And then one final cleansing breath,
Breathing in and exhaling nice and completely.
Settle into your meditation space and become open to all that you need.
And close your eyes if you haven't already.
If there is something that you need to let go of in this moment,
Just exhale longer than you inhale.
This signals the brain to relax more and allows you to release whatever it is that you need to release.
In preparing for surgery,
Remember that your body has a memory of good health.
It knows and if you can't remember,
Just listen to your heart and then your body.
On the inhale,
Embrace what you need.
And now on the exhale,
Release that which you don't need.
It's time to release old habits that served you at one time.
And now you can embrace the newness of hope.
When hope turns to reality,
You will remember the sensations,
Emotions and feelings of a healthy you.
May you be guided to go within to feel the residue of your every effort that you are putting forth right now on your upcoming procedure.
May you feel safe energy to elevate your healing.
You have taken the step to see a physician.
Trust their advice.
Your pain does not define you.
May you be guided to go within to feel the residue of everything that you are working for right now.
While your pain does not define you,
Your spine,
Hips,
Legs,
Arms,
Internal organs all help to keep you strong.
The pain you experience is not everything that you are.
You are the health that you are seeking.
Know that right now your mind and heart are partners along with the hands that will assist you in your healing.
Your care coach,
The nurses,
The doctors and the specialists that will be with you on this healing journey.
Send them gratitude right now.
Envision all of those people supporting you and send gratitude.
Allow your imagination to take you to the day before your surgery.
What is it you need to physically do?
What is it that your mind needs to prepare for?
To what extent can you see yourself in the hours prior to surgery?
Allow your mind to go there and feel.
Is there anything you need to release that will make you more comfortable both physically and emotionally?
And how do you feel?
Let your heart and mind partner to give you comfort that your caregivers on the day of your surgery are kind,
Knowledgeable and caring.
Just take that in.
Envision the operation and all the hands that will assist you through the procedure.
See them fulfilling their portion of the operation with ease and grace.
And now surround them with love.
Know that every cell of your body will cooperate and begin the healing process once you leave the operating room.
See yourself waking to smiles and the healing energy of your body.
Relax now in this awareness for a few moments.
May your breath harmonize with the energy of your body and your capacity to heal.
Breathe in,
Exhale.
Allow your in-breath to be full.
Now allow your out-breath to be empty.
Breathe in,
Exhale.
Rest in the assurance that you are prepared for your surgery and the healing journey you will embark on after this procedure is complete.
Know that you are blessed and know that you are loved.
