Simple steps to healing.
Ho ho pono pono.
Today we'll do an exercise in healing and forgiving ourselves in these times of turmoil.
When those around you seem in turmoil and it feels like hope is outside yourself,
When you simply do not know what else to say,
You know one thing for sure.
You need to forgive.
Forgive yourself and others.
Forgive even something you do not understand.
Forgive yourself for knowing no better.
And just love.
Just love.
Ho ho pono pono is a sweet Hawaiian prayer of forgiveness.
It is to make right.
And it is said two times to make it doubly important.
When we long for the presence of our peace within us and we seek for purpose and wanting to know what our part in this world's confusion is,
We are starved.
Starved and hungry for meaning,
Comfort and purpose.
When all around us there is anger and sadness,
We can find something that will comfort us and bring us peace.
We can seek forgiveness for our thoughts and beliefs we never really understood.
We forgive ourselves and others because we need to now,
And we have to now,
Or anger and hatred will consume us.
May we reach out to those taking a stand,
Making a point or exhibiting a belief.
In this meditation practice,
We will focus on our own beliefs and forgive them.
We will focus on others beliefs and actions and forgive them.
And we will ask for our own forgiveness.
Now,
Breathe deeply,
Experience completely and feel freely.
Focus on the breath,
Breathing in easily and steadily.
Listen to your heartbeat.
Feel your heart.
Focus on a person,
Pet or place that makes you smile.
By going into the heart space,
We become open.
Take a moment to feel it.
With that feeling in your heart,
Listen to this quote.
The quote is by Mel Robbins.
The same boiling water that softens the potato hardens the egg.
It's about what you're made of,
Not the circumstances.
The circumstances may be chaotic,
But there is something we can do.
Let us focus on certain aspects of what is happening right now in the world today.
Let us begin knowing that the that using forgiveness will give us back our harmony and peace.
Let us focus on areas of our world that seem to be exploding.
Let us begin with the peaceful demonstrators bringing to mind those images of peaceful demonstrators and send to them this message.
I love you.
I'm sorry.
Please forgive me.
Thank you.
There are student protesters.
Let us send this forgiveness to that area.
I love you.
I'm sorry.
Please forgive me.
Thank you.
To those families walking in peace.
May you know,
I love you.
I'm sorry.
Please forgive me.
Thank you.
And now for our communities railing in pain.
I love you.
I'm sorry.
Please forgive me.
Thank you.
To the people who are angry with rage.
I love you.
I'm sorry.
Please forgive me.
Thank you.
Rebels that are causing havoc.
I love you.
I'm sorry.
Please forgive me.
Thank you.
To those police in crazed angst.
I love you.
I'm sorry.
Please forgive me.
Thank you.
To our political leaders.
I love you.
I'm sorry.
Please forgive me.
Thank you.
And now bring an image of yourself.
You,
The one trying to find peace.
And send this message to you.
I love you.
I'm sorry.
Please forgive me.
Thank you.
And may we send this to all people everywhere needing to be forgiven.
I love you.
I'm sorry.
Please forgive me.
Thank you.
Thank you implies that forgiveness was accepted.
Remember that even when you or someone else may not be able to forgive,
You can always love.
You can always love.
Sending blessings in this most turbulent time.
And know that you are loved.
