A Guided Relaxation & Meeting An Ancestral Elder

Be guided into a relaxed state of awareness. Become aware of your breath. Feel your connection to the earth and the universe. Feel yourself at the centre of all that is. You will be guided to invite an ancestral being into your awareness - they may have a message for you. This meditation is for anyone who wants to experience a relaxed state of awareness and connect with the ancestral realm. Set to calming piano sounds, my voice will guide you along the way.

Transcript

Let's begin.

Find yourself in a comfortable position,

Either sitting or lying down.

Your hands resting in your lap,

Face up,

Being a receptive position,

With the tips of your thumb and index finger on each hand touching.

This is the Gyan Mudra of wisdom and knowing.

If you are lying on the floor,

You may gently rest your hands on your body wherever they fall.

Beginning by breathing deeply.

Taking several deep breaths deep down into your belly.

And as you exhale,

Letting go of any tension in the body.

Breathing deep down into your belly.

And then breathing out.

Relaxing and breathing.

Breathing and relaxing with every cycle of your breath.

Notice your breath as you inhale,

Welcoming into your body fresh oxygen and nourishment.

Notice your breath as you exhale,

Letting go of stale,

Worn out energy.

Breathing in nourishment and letting go of that which no longer serves you.

Your breath is your focus for your meditation today.

If you find your mind begins to wander off,

Simply bring it back to your breath and to the sound of my voice guiding you through this meditation practice.

Bring your awareness now to your body.

In your body,

From the tips of your toes to the top of your head.

Noticing your body.

Noticing the areas of tension or tightness and allowing your breath to release that tension as you continue to breathe in and out.

Be aware of the sensation and the feeling of your clothing against your skin.

Notice the temperature of the air around you as you breathe in and out.

Bring your awareness now to any tastes that are on your palate and the moisture within your mouth.

Just noticing and observing.

Bring your awareness to your breath as you breathe in and out.

Notice the temperature of your breath as it enters in through your nostrils and the temperature of your breath as it exits out through your nostrils.

Notice the point at which the oxygen enters your body in through your nostrils and the point at which your breath exits your body through your nostrils.

Just observing and being aware.

Bring your awareness to your mind now.

And notice any thoughts or images that may be occurring.

Notice your thoughts as they come and go.

Like clouds passing by in the sky.

You observe them.

You notice them.

But you don't engage with them.

You allow them to pass by like clouds in the sky.

Beware of any colours or images.

Just noticing and observing.

Bring your awareness now to the sounds that are around you.

The sound of my voice,

The sound of the music or any sounds that are in your vicinity.

Just noticing and observing.

Relaxing and breathing.

Give yourself permission now to relax and let go even further.

Let go of the need to be doing anything at all.

It is completely safe for you to relax and let go.

Bring your awareness now to the base of your spine.

And imagine,

Sense or feel that at the base of your spine is a rod of light that extends deep down into the earth beneath you.

Down down down to the earth beneath you.

This rod of light is your grounding cord.

Your grounding cord assists you to let go of tension,

Negative thoughts and feelings that are causing you discomfort.

Feel that happening for you now.

Letting go down your grounding cord,

Thoughts and feelings that are causing you discomfort.

Coming to rest at the deepest centre of the earth where they can be transformed,

Transmuted into something positive,

Something beautiful.

For the earth has the ability to do this.

As well as giving you an outlet for negatives,

Your grounding cord assists you to receive nourishment in.

Imagine sense or feel nourishment from the earth travelling up your grounding cord.

Entering in through your body,

Through the base of your spine and the soles of your feet.

Receiving nourishment from the earth.

All you have to do to receive is be available.

Breathing in and breathing out.

Breathing and breathing.

Bring your awareness now to the top of your head.

And imagine sense or feel that at the top of your head is a rod of light that extends above you.

Out into the universe above you.

Extending to a source of light.

From that source clear light pours into you,

Flows into your body through the top of your head filling your whole body with light.

Feeling loving light.

Feeling your whole body revitalising you,

Replenishing you,

Filling you.

Light of the universe mixing and merging with the realism of the earth.

Mixing and merging within you.

Breathing in and breathing out.

If your mind begins to wander gently bring it back to your breath.

Feeling connected to the earth and the universe above you.

Bring your awareness now to the six directions.

In front of you the north.

The north extends out in front of you and it goes on infinitely,

Endlessly.

Spacious awareness of the front.

Spacious awareness of the north direction.

Bring your awareness to the back of you now,

The south.

And the south extends back behind you infinitely,

Endlessly.

Being aware of that spacious awareness of the south behind you.

Bring your awareness now to the west,

Your left side.

It extends out beside you,

Way out endlessly and infinitely.

And now the east on your right side extends out endlessly and infinitely.

The space below you extends out endlessly and infinitely.

And the space above you extends up endlessly and infinitely.

And you are at the centre.

Imagine around yourself now a boundary of pure white light.

It extends above your head and below your feet.

To the front of you,

To the back of you and from side to side.

This boundary of pure white light protects you at all times,

In all places and in all ways.

It is always there for you.

It is affecting you.

And it is something that the wisdom of your being maintains.

Breathing in and out to the centre of your body.

Relaxing and breathing.

Breathing and relaxing.

Imagine yourself now in a wonderful natural setting.

It may be somewhere that you know or it may be somewhere that you imagine.

It is a place of absolute peace and safety.

And you are here today to do important work.

Find a place in your peaceful natural setting that you can sit and be.

Take a few moments to rest within your peaceful place.

Breathing in and breathing out.

Focus on the centre of your body.

A grand central sun at the centre of your body connected to the earth and the sky above you.

From your centre,

Imagine,

Sense or feel your connection to your ancestors.

The ones that have gone before you.

The ancient ones.

The wise ones.

Imagine sense or feel your connection to these elders.

Stretching back through your parents,

Your grandparents,

Your great grandparents and so on and so forth.

Breathing back to the beginning of time on earth.

Your DNA connecting you back.

See how far back this lineage stretches.

And now it is your time.

You are special.

You carry deep wisdom within you from those that have gone before you.

Tune into that awareness and wisdom for a moment.

Remembering to breathe a full,

Steady and connected breath.

Bring into awareness now an elder from the ancestral realm to come to be with you in your peaceful place.

See that elder within your mind's eye coming towards you.

How do you feel as they approach you?

What qualities do you admire?

The wise elder is now sitting with you within your peaceful place.

And a few moments absorbing their presence.

This wise elder may have a message for you to assist you with your present day.

Or they may have a message for you that will assist future generations to come.

Be open to receiving a message from them today.

Listen carefully with your wise heart space and your intuition.

If there are any questions you have to ask the wise and gentle being,

Please know that it is within your power to ask a question and be open to receive an answer.

In a moment it will be time for your ancestral elder to bid you farewell.

Spend a few moments parting company in any way that you feel is needed at this time.

Thank them for their presence today and bid them farewell.

Bringing your awareness back to your breath.

It is now time for you to farewell your peaceful place.

Gently bring yourself back into the room.

Bringing back with you an awareness of your presence in time and any messages of clarity you have received through your meditation.

Gently bring yourself back into your body.

Back into the room.

Wiggle your fingers and your toes and bring yourself to full alertness.

Thank you once again for joining me in this practice today.

If you received any messages from your elder,

I encourage you to write it down and reflect on it over the next few days to really integrate the message.

And we'll finish this practice today with a meta prayer for love and compassion.
