Good morning.
I hope you've enjoyed a rejuvenating sleep.
Thank you for joining me and taking the time to honor and nurture yourself.
In this practice,
We will be using imagery,
Movement,
And breathwork to rouse us from our sleepy state.
Take a moment to settle into your space,
Whether seated or lying down,
And with your eyes gently closed,
Attend to the sensation of the air around you.
Now as you breathe,
Notice the coolness of the air as it enters your nostrils and the slight warmth as it exits.
Let's take five more deep breaths,
Paying attention to the feeling as air travels down your windpipe,
Expanding into your ribcage,
Filling your lungs.
Maybe you imagine the process of oxygen moving into the bloodstream and flowing through your body,
And as you exhale,
Imagining the lungs ridding the body of the stale energies lingering from sleep.
And one more deep breath in and out.
Notice the position of your body.
Follow your intuition and felt sense to move as your body wishes to address any constriction,
Pangs,
Or areas of discomfort.
Ask yourself,
How does your body wish to move and then follow its lead?
Move in ways that feel good to your body.
Often in life,
We seek to find comfort with things external to us.
When we look inward to identify our needs and seek to answer them ourselves,
We give ourselves a great gift.
We will continue this movement section for 30 breaths.
One more deep breath in and out.
One more deep breath in and out.
One more deep breath in and out.
One more deep breath in and out.
One more deep breath in and out.
One more deep breath in and out.
Good.
Take a moment to get resettled into a comfortable position of stillness.
Feel into your contact points with the surface below you.
You are grounded here.
You have set this time to tend,
To show yourself love and concern and care.
In the stillness that you have created for yourself,
Allow your mind to be relieved of any burdens it is holding onto.
Perhaps as you engage your imagination,
Turning them into clouds that dissipate with each breath until they have moved away or disintegrated.
Imagine the horizon out in front of you.
You are just starting to see a band of bright color where the land meets the sky.
You witness the colors of the sunrise climbing into the sky and radiating out,
Illuminating everything in its path,
Bathing it in a gentle golden light.
You can start to feel this light climbing from your feet to your ankles,
Washing over your shins,
Your knees,
Your thighs,
Bringing warmth and energy to your pelvis,
Your belly,
Your chest,
Your fingers and forearms,
Your elbows up to your shoulders.
The light spills over your collarbones and neck,
Up past your chin,
Your lips,
Into your cheeks and nose.
You can feel the light now behind your eyelids as it continues to travel all the way to the top of your head.
Your whole body now vibrates with the energy of the rising sun.
It is a subtle energy that glows golden,
Then pink,
Purple and orange,
Eventually growing in strength throughout the day just as the sun travels through the sky.
I invite you now to begin to become present in the room around you.
Perhaps you become aware of the sounds of the space.
Perhaps you find a bit of movement,
Feeling into your surroundings,
Gently blinking your eyes open and orienting yourself.
You may wish to place a hand over your heart and set an intention for your day.
You've gotten off to a great start.
I appreciate your willingness to join me in this practice today and for taking the time to honor and nurture yourself.
Remember,
You can return to this practice by bringing your awareness to the breath at any time you choose throughout your day.
May you have a beautiful morning.
