Find a comfortable seat.
Let your shoulders drop.
Unclench your jaw.
Soften your belly.
Take a slow inhale through your nose and a steady exhale out your mouth.
Now notice if your mind is running a worst case scenario.
Catastrophizing is the mind trying to protect you by predicting danger.
You don't need to fight it.
You don't need to believe it.
You just need to come back to what's true right now.
Big inhalation in,
Repeating to yourself,
I am here.
Big exhalation out,
Repeating to yourself,
I am safe in this moment.
Bring one hand to your heart or your solar plexus.
Feel the warmth of your hand.
Feel your body anchoring you.
Now silently say,
This is a thought,
Not a problem.
This is a prophecy.
Now from this knowing,
Let's name three truths.
First,
What is actually happening right now?
Not what might happen,
Not what could happen,
Just the facts.
What's real?
Second,
What is the next right step I can take?
One small step,
One breath,
One decision,
Just the next step.
Third,
What would I choose if I trusted myself?
Not because you're certain of the outcome,
But because you're certain of you.
Now imagine placing the worst case scenario in a box.
You don't throw it away,
You just simply set it down beside you.
And you can come back to it if you need to.
But no,
It's not something that needs your attention in this moment.
Inhale,
I return to the present.
Exhale,
I release the story.
And remind yourself,
I can handle what's real.
I do not have to solve imaginary futures.
My mind can speak and I can choose peace.
I trust myself to respond one step at a time without judgment of pace.
Take one final breath in.
And a long exhale out.
When you're ready,
Flutter your eyes open and remind yourself,
I am not in the worst case scenario.
I am here and I've got me now.
Thanks for watching.
