I'm going to walk you through a foundational exercise that I often teach and it's one of the most effective techniques to regulate your nervous system in under five minutes.
I suggest finding at least three moments in the day where you can add in this practice,
One in the morning,
Then in the afternoon,
And then again before your head touches the pillow.
Specifically,
I invite you to bring in what's called habit stacking.
That's where you find three habits that you already do in your day,
And then you add in the seven-dimensional breathing on top of it.
So for instance,
Before you brush your teeth in the morning and at night,
You can spend five minutes with the seven-dimensional breathing practice.
One of my personal favorites is to do this before I start work and then after I end work.
Since I often work from home,
Like you're seeing here,
And I need clear rituals to help me step in and out of work mode.
And that way I can be more present for my family when I get home.
So let's begin.
This is the seven dimensional breathing practice.
You're going to breathe in seven directions down.
Forward,
Back,
To the right,
To the left,
And then within.
And each one is going to stretch your capacity.
Each one is going to bring in an expanded perspective.
So let's go slow here.
Exhale out through your mouth.
Then inhale through your nose as you bring in awareness to your belly,
To your core,
And then place your hand there.
And then on your next inhale.
Bring your awareness.
To your feet.
To the connection to the ground beneath you.
Breathe down here into the earth,
Into the roots beneath your feet,
Into the bones of the ancestors who walked before you.
Keeping your eyes closed if you can.
Take a deep breath here.
And let the earth hold what you no longer need to carry.
Breathe in that energy from the earth beneath your feet.
Just like the roots of the trees do all around you.
On your next inhale.
Bring your breath up.
Through your body,
Through your spine.
Out of the crown of your head and then into the open sky above you,
Stretching your awareness here.
This is your access to vision.
Possibility.
Your connection to something greater,
Something bigger than yourself.
A deep breath here feel yourself expanding upward like a tree stretching into the sky above.
And on your next inhale.
Stretch your awareness now into the space in front of you.
This is the path ahead.
Your direction.
What you are moving toward with clarity.
With direction,
With a steady pace.
With a comfortability in the unknown.
Taking a deep breath here,
Let your breath clear away any fog before you.
And on your next inhale,
Stretch your awareness.
Behind you.
Into the story that carried you here through your back.
Into the weight that you were born.
Into the lessons that shaped you.
You don't need to relive anything.
It's helpful to simply remember and witness as you take a deep breath here.
On your next inhale,
Stretch your perspective now out of your right side.
This is the place of wisdom,
Discernment,
Experience,
Decision making.
This is the way that sees the patterns.
That knows how to lead with clarity.
Taking a deep breath here.
And on your next inhale.
Stretch your awareness out of your left side.
This is the dimension of intuition.
The whisper beneath the noise.
The feeling.
Behind the thought.
This is the way that.
.
.
Does not analyze its senses.
It's where you move like an animal and then you dance in the mystery.
Taking a deep breath here.
On your next inhale Breathe back into your center.
And then go deeper.
Behind the ribs,
Bring your awareness inside your chest.
Into the essence of you at your core.
Your true self lives here.
Calm,
Clear,
Connected,
Courageous,
Brilliant.
And take a deep breath here as you feel.
Yourselves.
The space.
Between yourselves.
The immensity that is you here in this beautiful life.
This is the anchor where you live without fear.
Without a mass.
Just you.
Fully present.
Fully here.
In this moment.
When you're ready,
Go ahead and open up your eyes.
You've just completed the seven-dimensional breathing practice.
This is a powerful ritual to breathe yourself bigger and lead your life from inner authority.
Use it before a hard conversation.
Before walking into your home after a long day of work.
And I invite you to teach this to your teams at work and teach it to your children.
Let's equip them with the foundational skill to keep ourselves regulated,
Strong,
And steady.
And most importantly,
Use this breath simply when the noise around you gets way too loud.
And it's time to tune in and separate the signal from the noise.
If you practice this regularly,
You'll find that you stop outsourcing your power and you start embodying it in a way that helps you truly thrive.
In this one wild and precious life.
