Welcome to your practice of Dantian Breathing today.
Please choose a position for your practice that will best support you as you are today.
Standing,
Seated,
Reclined on your back,
Or even a slow walk.
What will create a sense of relaxation and ease in your body today.
Settle into your chosen position.
Feeling the earth beneath your body and allowing gravity to flow through you.
Bringing you home,
Home to Mother Earth.
Rooting you in the place of belonging.
From here,
Sense the sky above.
Different quality of the energy of sky.
Allowing your branches,
Your spirit to be lifted while remaining rooted deeply in the earth.
Allow the joints of your body to be open.
Immersing yourself in all the fluids within.
And simply observing how the body organizes itself in alignment between earth and sky.
Sense the space in between earth and sky.
The space of you.
How does this space feel for you today?
Does it feel expansive?
Or do you shy away from occupying this space?
Notice the breath that animates the space of you.
And seek a sense of center within this space.
Invite the breath to arise from and return to the center of you.
Without forcing.
And inquire about where in your body the center is located.
Perhaps you are naturally guided to the lower dantian itself.
Or perhaps not.
Perhaps not today.
Just observe for a moment.
Using intention,
Can you invite the natural center that showed up for you to migrate towards the low dantian?
Allowing both your awareness and your breath to root in the dantian center.
Like a pearl slowly descending towards the bottom of a lake.
Observe your experience of earth and sky from the center of your dantian now.
And allow your body to make any alignment adjustments that it needs.
In order to release into a sense of deeper relaxation and receptivity.
Visualize a point of light.
Perhaps as warm as the sun in the center of the dantian.
As you inhale the breath expanding in all directions from the center of the dantian.
Allow the light to also expand.
And as you exhale allow both breath and light to retract and return to the center of the dantian.
Check in with your physical body inviting the belly,
The back and the sides of the abdomen to remain relaxed and receptive to the movement of breath and the pulsation of the light.
Inhaling the breath and the light expand in all directions from the center of the dantian.
Exhaling everything returns back to the center of the dantian.
If you like the visualization of the pulsing light invite this light to expand further on each inhalation.
Always returning back to its origin at the end of each exhalation.
Each inhalation growing the light a little bit bigger until your whole body is illuminated with warm sunlight at the top of your inhalation or returning back to where it came from in the center of the dantian through your exhalation.
Allow your whole body,
Every single cell of it to receive this warming light as it pulses through it.
Each breath bringing fresh nourishment in the form of warm sunlight from your dantian to every cell in your body.
And each exhalation returning anything no longer needed from each cell of your body back to the dantian where it can be composted and recycled.
You are welcome to remain here within the space of this meditation for as long as is supportive for you.
If you wish to close the practice together I invite you now to release any technique,
Any visualization.
Root this awareness once more in the center of your dantian feeling the breath in the center of your lower belly and become aware of the skin of your whole body,
Skin that provides a boundary to the space that you might call you.
Take your palms gently together beginning to rub them slowly at first and then a little bit more vigorously to generate a little bit of heat.
Placing your palms over your eyes feeling the warmth of the palms through the skin of your face and your eyes.
Little by little invite your eyes to open inside the palms of your hands allowing the light to begin to come in.
Remaining with open awareness slowly bring the palms away from your eyes.
Little by little allow the outer world to appear to you.
Taking a moment to look around your space anchoring yourself in your physical space after our journey.
Taking your time before transitioning into the rest of your day.
Thank you very much for your practice today.
May it serve you well.
Namaste.
