This is Marion.
Today we're working on letting go.
It's not unusual to hold on to things longer than is in our best interest.
We hold on to relationships,
Jobs,
Memories,
Emotions.
We hold on to physical things that take up space and no longer provide value.
We just hold on.
We hold on to things that no longer service,
Things that drain us.
Today we're going to experiment with letting go.
This experiment is a leg of a journey that you can come back to time and time again.
Letting go is a process.
It takes time and patience and it takes courage,
The courage to be able to see how this holding on is actually holding back.
We're going to begin by taking three deep breaths.
When you breathe in,
You will feel your body expanding,
Your belly,
Your chest,
Your shoulders rising.
When you breathe out,
You will feel yourself sinking deeper into your body,
Into your chair.
Sitting up straight,
Arms and legs uncrossed,
Feel your feet pressing against the floor.
Sit up straight,
Align your hips,
Your shoulders and your head and then just allow your shoulders to relax a little.
Eyes open with a soft gaze or close.
Three deep breaths.
I'll walk you through.
Deep breath in,
Slow release out.
Deep breath in,
Slow release out.
Deep breath in,
Slow release out.
Now just allow your breath to return to normal.
Just stay with this.
Follow the natural cycle of your breathing.
In and out.
Just breathe.
Just breathe.
Take a moment and think about something that's no longer bringing you joy,
Something that is draining you.
This could be anything.
It might be a conversation that you had last week that you keep playing over and over again in your head.
It might be a memory,
A relationship,
A belief,
A certain way that you're thinking of something and you just can't let it go.
It might be your self-image,
A certain way of seeing yourself that's no longer relevant or helpful.
For today just choose something and we'll see how it goes.
Something you're holding on to.
You want to let it go and yet you keep holding on.
This thing that you're holding on to,
Feel it in your body.
Where do you feel it?
What does this feel like?
Name it.
Feel its darkness,
Its weight.
Notice the movement in your body.
In your body.
Do you feel internally a lot?
Energetic?
Or do you feel tight and constricted?
Is your breathing deep or shallow?
This thing that you cannot let go of,
How is it holding you back?
What is it keeping you from?
What is it that's keeping you here,
Holding on?
Fear?
Anger?
Shame?
Loyalty?
What is keeping you from letting go?
Name it.
What is keeping you from letting go?
Name it.
Perhaps there is some action you need to take in order to move forward.
Perhaps there's a conversation you need to have.
Maybe it's forgiveness,
Either for yourself or for someone else.
Perhaps this is a burden you've carried alone for so long.
You would benefit by sharing.
Or maybe you need to give yourself permission to turn away,
To move on.
See it.
What does this next step look like?
What is an action you need to take in order to move on?
See it.
Name it.
You are safe here.
Take a deep breath.
As you breathe in,
Notice your spine stretching out,
Straight,
Tall.
You are strong,
Confident.
Feel your power,
Your strength.
You own this.
You own this.
Feel your strength.
With every breath,
You grow stronger.
Breathe in.
Breathe in energy.
This is you.
Deep inside,
This is you.
There's no fear here.
You are safe here.
Breathe this.
Feel this.
Right here,
Right now.
Be here.
Just be.
Picture yourself taking this next step.
You have clarity,
Calmness.
You have conviction.
This feels right.
You're ready now.
Ready to move on.
You are releasing.
Letting go.
Moving forward.
Feel this.
See this.
Your pace is confident,
Deliberate.
It feels right.
You're walking away.
Moving forward.
You feel an energy,
An aliveness that you've not felt in a while.
In front of you,
The world is opening up.
You're not sure exactly where you're going,
And yet it feels okay.
You feel a tingling,
A sense of excitement.
Ahead of you so much open space,
There's a lightness.
You feel this.
Your step is lighter.
You're smiling.
Notice the sensations.
This is what it feels like to let go.
There's freedom here.
Freedom for whatever is next.
You're ready to let go,
To take action,
To move forward.
What is the action that you will commit to taking?
What does this next step look like?
Any step forward,
Regardless of how big or small,
Is a step forward.
Choose something that you can commit to doing.
See yourself doing this.
See it.
Feel the energy.
Feel the aliveness,
The letting go,
The moving forward.
Over the next minute,
The music will slowly fade out,
At which time you may want to take a moment and quietly reflect.
What are the learnings for you?
What do you need in order to move forward?
And what are the resources available to help you?
