I'd like you to consider this short guided relaxation as a tool to help you arrive.
So we oftentimes go from one activity to the next,
Rushing here,
Rushing there,
Taking off one hat,
Putting on another.
And as a result,
We're not fully present for those we love or for the activity at hand or for what we're about to consume.
So I want you to just notice how you feel in this moment,
Physically,
Emotionally,
Energetically.
Have you arrived?
Here's a practice to help you do so.
Let's bring your awareness to your feet.
Just feeling around for the toes and for the sole of the feet and the heel.
And just notice maybe the sensation of the fabric of the socks against your skin,
Or maybe it's the shoes,
The stiffness of them against the foot.
Or if you're directly on the surface,
Just feel into that surface.
If you're seated or standing,
Just allow that surface underneath the feet to be an anchor,
To allow you to anchor into the present moment.
I want you to bring your awareness to your belly and your chest,
And if you're not driving,
Taking one hand and placing it on the belly and the other on the chest.
We're just gonna notice the breath.
No control,
Just no judgment.
Just being aware of it.
Here you are,
Just breathing.
Now we're gonna look to leverage or harness the power of the breath.
So on your next in-breath,
Just take a nice inhale,
And on your exhale,
Just release every last drop of air that you can.
And now on your next inhale,
Feel that breath go deep into the belly,
Expanding.
And on your next exhale,
Just noticing if you can feel the belly recede a little bit.
Now if you couldn't sense that,
No worries.
We kind of fake it till we make it.
So just,
Again,
Join me in inhaling,
Feeling the breath going into the belly,
And exhaling.
Just feeling it release and soften.
On the next inhale,
We're gonna lengthen it,
Feeling all the oxygen come in to rejuvenate the body.
And on the next exhale,
Let's just release the to-dos,
The responsibilities,
And the demands of the day.
Inhaling,
Nourishing each cell in the body with that beautiful oxygen.
Exhaling,
Releasing worry,
Releasing fear,
Releasing doubt.
Inhaling,
Feeling the belly rise and expand.
Exhaling,
Allowing it to soften,
Feeling the shoulders soften.
Inhaling,
Allowing all the cells in the body to be nourished by this oxygen.
Exhaling,
Releasing all the stagnation through that carbon dioxide leaving the body.
Inhaling,
Calm rejuvenation and rest.
Exhaling,
Worry,
Fear,
And doubt.
Inhaling,
Feeling the belly expand and with it,
Openness and freedom in the body.
Exhaling,
Releasing expectations,
The need to perform and the need to do.
One more breath together as we inhale and exhale.
Now release the control of the breath but just notice how do you feel now in the body?
What's shifted?
Have you arrived?
Bring your awareness to your feet again and allow it to anchor you back into the body.
Thanks for joining me.
