Welcome,

My name is Maria and I'm here to guide you in a short guided meditation for inner peace.

Firstly I would like you to make yourself comfortable and you might begin by just closing your eyes.

Inner peace is all about letting go and relaxing.

Letting go even more and relaxing even deeper.

Let's do this now together.

Take a slow deep breath and let go of any tension.

You might want your exhale to last longer than your inhale and allow yourself to sink into the surface that you're resting on,

Might be a chair or a bed.

Take another slow and deep breath and on the exhale you release your thoughts and letting them just drift away.

On your next inhale you tell your mind and your body that all is well right here,

Right now.

As you're inhaling and exhaling into this knowing I want you to notice the connection to the ground that you have either through the bottom of your feet or the bottom of your seat and just feel Mother Earth holding you and supporting you at all times.

It's grounding you.

On the next inhale imagine the energy of life flowing into you through the top of your head,

Through your hands,

Your heart,

Softly and peacefully.

Make sure this energy of life has a colour that you might want and it's filling your whole body.

Now shift your attention back to your breath and as you're inhaling you're saying the words to yourself I feel peaceful.

I feel at peace.

Your mind will surely come in and distract you and that's ok,

You acknowledge it but you shift your focus back onto your breath and on an inhale you're landmarking that arrival back in the here and now with the words I am in peace.

You might want to consider something in your daily life that is unsettling you inside.

Choose something that you feel you're safe to be with for a little bit and I want you to imagine that you're holding this upsetting scenario or situation close to your heart that's surrounded by a soft coloured light with the colour of your choice.

There's no need for analysis or thinking too much about the situation but holding it just tenderly in your heart and breathing the words peace.

Allow yourself to bathe into a sense of letting go and inner relaxation as you're loosening the grip of that situation that's been troubling you.

Continue to hold the attention and your breath by saying the words I am at peace right now.

I am safe.

As you're whispering these words to yourself you really start to see that this situation that was troubling you is beginning to fade away slowly,

It's beginning to feel more like noise in the background.

Notice how your body is feeling at the minute as you're surrendering yourself to deeper love and deeper inner relaxation.

That's how close peace can feel,

Can be accessed right here,

Right now.

Very soon we'll bring this relaxation and this meditation into a close.

Before we do so I would like you to take a minute to give thanks to yourself for whatever has brought forward for you today.

Give thanks to your mind and your heart for assisting you along the way with whatever and however they emerged.

Thank you body,

Thank you mind,

Thank you heart,

Thank you spirit.

Thank you for everything to yourself that you will return to this place next time you feel you need to.

And as you're exhaling in that knowing and trust that you can access this place anytime you want in the future I want you to please shift your attention back on your feet on the ground,

On the chair or the sitting that's supporting you.

Feel your body,

Your hands,

Your upper back,

Any part of the body that's in contact with the ground or the sitting area arrangement that you have.

And when you're ready you can slowly and gently open your eyes having full awareness that your back and your initial room that you've completed this meditation in.

You may wish to allow your eyes to slowly open,

Maybe half open as you gaze towards the floor before you open them more fully.

I am grateful for listening to this meditation and I hope it has been helpful.

Thank you.
