You are exactly where you are supposed to be in this very moment.
I really appreciate your time.
I felt like reading some poetry for you today.
This is a poem by Rumi.
It is called Talking and God's Love of Variety.
Noah talked for 900 years,
Trying to help people change.
They stayed cynical,
But he never quit talking.
He never crept into a cave of silence.
He said to himself,
Does a caravan stop when dogs bark?
Everyone has something to do from his or her essential nature.
The moon crosses the sky and the dog howls.
I talk.
The motto of this market is everyone sells something different because God enjoys the variety.
Fire eats thorns for dessert.
Hogs think dung is a delicious sweetbread.
Snakes spew their venom here.
While deep on the mountainside,
The beehive sweetens.
Moats fly left,
Right,
Up and down in the air.
Part of one natural movement of the sun.
The sap of a tree branches many directions.
It's true what the Quran says.
We are returning.
Numbers scuffle and fight,
Though they all derive from zero.
We cannot say what great peace reigns on the wild river.
Still,
We talk,
Hussam and I.
No one can drink the entire oaks us,
But a taste from the six books of this Masnavi may slake your thirst for a moment.
That was talking and God's love of variety.
So much variety.
Diversity in nature,
In our human family.
I hope you enjoyed this reading.
I hope that you are enjoying the variety in our life now as we go forward with love into the world at large.
Thank you again for stopping by.
I am Maria,
Just in case you didn't know.
