This guided practice takes you on a walk through the woodland. It helps you to visualise and hopefully may take you away to one of your favourite woodlands. It can be used on its own or is great to follow the relaxation track titled "Relax... Relax.. Relax."

Imagine that you stood in front of a wooden gate,

A wooden kissing gate,

And in front of that there's a pathway as far as the eye can see,

And either side,

Rows upon rows upon rows of trees.

So we're going to go through the kissing gate and onto the pathway.

And as you start walking along the pathway,

Firstly become aware of what's underneath your foot.

Is it tarmac?

Is it bark?

Is it just a load of leaves and twigs?

How does it feel as you're walking along?

How soft is it underneath your feet?

Is there rustling or twigs breaking as you walk?

What can you hear?

And as you're taking step by step,

Just have a look around you.

Have a look at what type of trees there are.

Are they all the same or are they just an absolute array of different varieties?

How tall are they?

What colours are they?

How much foliage and leaves do they have?

And are there any shrubs?

Are there different colours around?

As you continue walking down your path,

Take a deep breath in and what can you smell?

If you look in between the trees,

How dark does it appear?

Or can you actually see where the light is cascading through?

Bouncing off leaves?

How does it look?

And just continue walking down your pathway,

Just taking everything in.

Become aware of how quiet everything is around you.

How peaceful.

And just up ahead of you,

You're going to see your path actually carries on but there's also two paths going to your right and to your left.

We're going to take the left hand path.

And as you get up to it,

Just have a look down.

Is it narrower or wider than the path we've just been round down?

What's different?

Is there more colour?

Is the path different?

As you start walking down,

Just become very aware of all the differences that this pathway is giving you.

Does it smell different?

Does it feel different underneath your feet?

And as you're taking absolutely everything in,

You just notice in between the trees there's like an old building.

That intrigues you.

It intrigues you enough to make you want to investigate.

So,

To get there,

We need to come off the pathway and actually go in between the trees or the shrubs or whatever you've got in your area.

It's light enough for you to be able to see.

But you are going to have to zigzag around trees.

There may be some logs that have fallen that you either can climb over or if they're too big,

You need to find your way around.

You touch the leaves and the trunks of the trees as you're walking past.

And you notice the different textures.

You notice how differently it is walking through that area.

But you still have your focus on that building.

As you get closer and closer,

You start wondering what it could be or what it still is.

What is it used for?

Why is it still there?

Once you get to the building,

Have a wander around.

Is it still complete?

Are all the walls intact?

If there are windows,

Have a look in.

How old do you think this building is?

Have a good wander around the area.

And if you don't really know what the building is,

What does it remind you of?

What do you think it may have once been used for?

Or still is being used for?

And when you've taken that in enough,

Continue walking down past your building.

Zigzagging around the trees.

And you notice up in front of you there's a big clearing.

Head towards that clearing.

And just meander your way towards it.

And as you do,

Just notice how at peace you feel.

How calm.

How nice it feels to be wandering in between these trees.

Seeing the clearing in front of you.

But having to zigzag and climb over and just find your way towards that clearing.

And when you do finally get to that entrance of the clearing,

It looks like one big square.

There's a few logs over one side,

All kind of sat on top of each other.

And a boulder next to it.

And other than that,

It's pretty much empty.

So you walk across to that log.

And you sit on the bottom one.

You can lean up.

It's almost like a bench.

You can lean back on the other ones built up.

And as you do,

And you lean back so your face is pointing up to the sky.

Firstly,

You notice just how blue the sky is.

Then you notice how the sun seems to be beating down purely and utterly within this square.

It's like it's own sun trap.

And as you're sat there,

You just become aware of how harmonious,

How peaceful.

And how completely and utterly balanced and at ease with yourself you feel.

As you just feel so content.

And soaking in the atmosphere around you.

The trees.

The natural sounds of the odd bird.

Twigs breaking.

Every now and then just a slight rustle of leaves.

The warmth.

And they just.

.

.

Just that feeling.

You take four deep breaths in.

Just so you can bottle inwardly.

That beautiful feeling that you're feeling right now.

So in your own time,

Just breathe that in.

And enjoy.

Just focusing on your breath.

And the feeling.

And once you've completed all of your breaths.

Just take a moment.

And then start moving your body,

Your fingers and your shoulders.

And start bringing yourself gently back into your room.

Wriggling and stretching.

Bring your hands up to your face and rub your face.

And then when you're ready,

Open your eyes.

Words are beautiful and entrancing, but the music was not a good match, but I am a follower and live your work ❤️🙏🪷
