Hi,
This is Minelle.
Welcome to the joy of fasting,
Finding alignment and beauty in abstinence.
The intention of this inspiration is to celebrate the many benefits of fasting,
Including finding alignment in one's spiritual,
Mental,
Emotional and physical bodies,
Which leads to surrender.
Fasting of many forms is an activity that has been prevalent within human history.
Fasting is the act of abstaining from food,
Drink,
Sexual activity or any forms of pleasure and indulgences.
Humans have been fasting for many reasons,
Including religious,
Spiritual,
Health,
Ethical or sometimes due to necessary life circumstances.
Fasting is practiced in some form in most religions,
Including Buddhism,
Christianity,
Islam,
Judaism,
Taoism and Hinduism.
Contingent and fasting has been adopted widely due to its physical and health benefits.
When a certain activity is so widely engaged,
It forces the reflection of why.
Why is there fasting?
What is the purpose of fasting?
What are the benefits?
Why?
I would like to offer that fasting is an exercise of alignment.
Alignment between our four bodies.
I define our four bodies as our spiritual or egoic body,
Our mental body,
Our emotional body and our physical body.
Fasting requires alignment between the four bodies to be successful.
First,
Your spiritual or egoic body,
Which holds your identities and beliefs.
Your spiritual body invokes a belief of fast.
This belief may be religiously,
Spiritually,
Medically or ethically motivated.
It is not relevant.
Regardless,
There is a belief underlying the need,
The requirement to fast.
A belief that it is necessary.
A belief that there is value.
A belief,
Any belief.
Secondly,
The participation of the mind,
The intention to fast.
The mind is heavily involved in motivating and overcoming any resistance from one's emotional and physical bodies.
Third,
The command center,
The heart,
Also referred to as the emotional body.
This body executes the desire to fast.
I want to fast.
A pleasure or displeasure in the fast.
Any displeasure will require the mind to work harder.
The pleasure will invite alignment.
And lastly,
The physical body.
The physical body,
The being that is performing the fast.
It is the physical body that is enduring withdrawal of food and nutrition and can either surrender or resist the fast.
Your physical body is supported by the spirit,
Mind and heart to endure.
It is the beauty of the alignment of the four bodies which allows a successful fast.
It is the alignment of our four bodies which allows us to surrender.
To allow.
To flow.
To be.
Grace in this life in the form of love,
Self-worth and freedom is attained through the alignment of our four bodies.
Alignment with inner power.
Alignment with the authentic self.
Connection with the truth of love,
Freedom and worthiness.
Fasting is a beautiful mechanism for creating alignment between the four bodies.
When fasting from a religious or spiritual place,
Fasting is a guide towards surrender.
Fasting for a higher purpose,
For a larger meaning.
An engagement of your spiritual intention with the surrender of your physical body.
A recognition of the connection of the human body as a vessel for execution of a spiritual intention.
How powerful to celebrate your religious or spiritual practice through engaging your body,
Through surrender of your body.
This merging of your spiritual body with your physical body brings a sense of worthiness,
Purpose and meaning to one's unfolding life.
Fasting is a form of restraint,
Whether eliminating all food and drink or one item requires self-restraint.
One's physical and emotional bodies endure the pain of the past,
Endure the limitations voluntarily placed on your physical experience.
One must have strong resolve and self-restraint for this endurance.
This intention of self-restraint creates a connection between the mind,
Emotional and physical bodies.
The mind engages the will to subside any resistance formed in the emotional and physical bodies due to the fast.
There are always two ways to see a situation,
Half full or half empty.
Short end of the stick,
Long end of the stick.
Fasting can be seen as a form of restraint or conversely seen as an opportunity to invite willpower.
Willpower is the connection with one's personal power or inner power.
What is celebration to perform an activity which actively invites exercise of your willpower which creates connection with your inner strength?
Powerful.
Another benefit of fasting is it is a powerful way to become present within your body.
Hunger,
Thirst,
Desire and fatigue,
All possible outcomes from fasting,
All guide you to becoming aware of your physical self.
In this awareness it guides you towards becoming present with your body,
Eliminating conditional or adopted eating and drinking habits.
Being present allows one to enjoy the flavour of life,
The now of life,
The power of now,
The power of being.
Whatever may be the catalyst for your fast,
Enjoy the beautiful process of aligning your four bodies,
Your spiritual or egoic body,
Your mental body,
Your emotional body and your physical body.
What a beautiful way to reconnect with the beauty of life within you and to connect you in communion with the billions of people who are also celebrating their bodies in fast.
Enjoy your alignment,
Enjoy the presence and enjoy the surrender.
Celebrate your fast.
Celebrate your body.
Celebrate your heart.
Celebrate your mind.
Celebrate your spirit.
Celebrate you.
My love,
Always.
