Welcome to Alignment,

A meditation for standing in line.

The average person spends six months of their life waiting in line.

Knowing this,

How do you want to spend those six months of life in a more aware and sacred manner?

Today you will presence yourself in the current location and reclaim your time.

Going from just standing in a line to standing in alignment.

Engaging your senses,

Becoming aware of the richness of your environment,

And feeling more grounded in the moment.

How are you feeling in this moment?

Choose five different feeling labels.

Acknowledge,

Giving just a little bit more space and more breathing room.

We'll start by taking a deep breath in through your nose and to the count of four,

And breathing out of your mouth to the count of eight.

Blowing out through the O of your mouth,

Like blowing on a hot drink.

Now repeat this two more times.

In through the nose for four,

Out through the mouth for eight.

In through the nose for four,

And out through the mouth for eight.

Look all around you and notice four things that draw the attention of your sight.

Without judgment,

Just labeling the first four things you notice around you.

Choosing one thing to hone your sights on,

Really noticing it.

The color,

The texture,

The shape,

Maybe the way it's placed in the environment.

Really studying it.

Now relax your gaze and let it go.

Then hone into three noises that you hear.

Really decipher the people talking from the music to maybe ambient sounds of carts or checkouts or machinery.

Now relax the sense of hearing slightly and let it go.

Now shifting to notice two things that you smell.

Breathing in through your nose,

Just noticing,

Seeing if you can place the scent.

Notice if you have any attachment to the smell.

Triggers any memories or if the smells remind you of anything.

Then relaxing your awareness of scent and let them shift out of focus.

Now notice one thing you can touch.

Maybe it's your own clothing or skin.

Maybe it's something you're purchasing,

Something you're standing in front of.

Feel it.

Is it warm or cool?

Does it have a texture?

Really feel and notice it.

Then relaxing your awareness of touch and letting it shift out of focus.

Look around and notice who else is sharing this experience with you.

If you have any extra grounding to share,

Send a little energy energetically to those around you.

Just a little compassion and awareness for being in the same boat.

May they feel the ground beneath their feet.

Taking one more deep breath through your nose and out through your mouth.

Wiggling your toes or lightly tapping your feet,

Noticing the ground beneath you.

Giving gratitude for your ability to tap in to the present moment.

May you get through this line with more alignment and inner flow.
