This 10-minute practice for positive thoughts and feelings has been created to help you look at the brighter side of life. With regular practice, you can begin to shift from negative thinking patterns into those good feeling thoughts. Let's get to it. Get comfy. Put a smile on your face. Everything you need is within.

Welcome to this week's guided meditation.

My name is Linz and I'm about to take you on a journey into positivity.

Self-talk is our main conversation throughout the day.

Our chatty mind talks to us from the minute we get up until we go to bed.

We can often get stuck into a groove of negative self-talk,

Which is tiring.

And this can also ripple into our daily conversations.

We'll be going about our day and all of a sudden we begin to see everything that's wrong with the world and everything that's wrong with us.

But with practice we don't need to believe the self-talk and we can even begin to train the mind to look more on the positive side.

This meditation has been created to help you make a mental shift to the brighter side of love.

So let's get to it.

All you need is to be comfortable and have an open and receptive mind to the possibility that there's positivity within you and around you.

Take a little while to make yourself comfortable.

You may want to close your eyes or just soften the gaze down towards the floor.

Take a few moments to stretch and settle into your body.

There's nothing for you to do,

Nowhere to go,

No effort to be made.

Just be here now.

That's all you need to do.

Simply breathe and be attentive to the here.

No need to be concerned with the content of the thoughts,

The thoughts that are tugging at your awareness.

Throughout this meditation some thoughts will tug gently and others will tug more forcefully.

No need to be concerned with the thoughts,

Just leave them be for now.

Easing into your body through the awareness of breath.

Beginning to connect with the senses.

Notice what you can hear around you now.

No need to reach out for the sounds,

Allow them to fall into the ears.

One sound just follows another.

Bringing an awareness to what you can feel and feel how gravity is keeping you safe and sturdy.

As you begin to ease into the body,

Affirming that you are here and that's all you need to be.

Repeating in the mind's eye just a few times,

I am here.

I am here.

And really feeling into that sense of being here.

Nothing to control,

Fix,

Change or improve.

Just a gentle shift from the thinking mind into a more accepting,

Kind and positive way of thinking and feeling.

Begin to visualize or get a sense of yourself stood in front of you now.

See or sense yourself basking in a warm ray of bright,

Warm light.

As you look at this version of yourself you see that they are standing tall and confident.

Feet planted firmly on the ground,

A long spine.

Their shoulders roll back and their chest and chin are lifted slightly.

You can sense that they are sturdy and grounded.

And if somebody came over to this version of you and gave them a push,

They wouldn't even budge an inch.

Take a moment to sense into the details of this version of you.

Are they wearing other colours of brine?

Are they neutral or something else?

Notice a soft smile on their face as they stand so tall and so confident.

As you look at their lips you notice just the corners of the mouth are turned up.

A look of satisfaction and contentment.

In your mind's eye start to send compliments to this version of you as you would a good friend.

You may tell this version of you that they look amazing and that their energy seems so happy and positive.

Everything about them just feels so bright,

Even the whites of their eyes.

Begin to shower them with love and positivity and remind this version of you that the past is the past.

And if something's going on now it won't last forever.

Everything is okay.

And in your own way tell this version of you how much you love them.

Really take the time to tune into the feelings of sending this person positive vibes and love.

Allow this positive version of yourself to step into your body.

Feel their light and positive energy filling every cell of your body as you become one.

Feel the feelings.

Make them big.

Make them bright.

Make them powerful.

Repeating these phrases in the mind's eye as if they were true and real to you now.

I choose to feel positive.

I choose happiness.

I am enough.

Really feel the positive vibes of these affirmations washing through every cell of the body.

They make you feel brighter and lighter but grounded and rooted at the same time.

I focus on the good things in my life.

I am happy,

Healthy,

Wealthy and well.

I am happy,

Healthy,

Wealthy and well.

I am happy,

Healthy,

Wealthy and well.

Everything is okay.

Now it's time to draw a close to this meditation.

Begin to take some gentle movement and even stretching the body.

Whatever you need to do to really draw yourself into your body.

And whenever you're ready,

Begin to flutter the eyelids open.

There's no rush.

Thank you for offering this lovely meditation. I had a little trouble hearing a few of the words but not a big deal. I struggle with self confidence and know all too well the critical inner voices. I liked the idea of visualizing myself standing in light and looking confident. Then talking to myself as I would a friend. Then stepping into that version of myself. I liked the affirmations too.
