Hi friend,
Thank you for joining me for this guided journey to retrieve the original voice you buried to survive.
I'm Lindsay,
And I'm so glad you're here.
This practice is not about being heard by the world.
It's about hearing yourself again.
The version of you that existed before the edits,
Before the performance,
Before you learned that silence equaled safety.
Let's begin.
Close your eyes gently or let your gaze soften.
Place one hand on your chest and one on your low belly.
Breathe in deeply through your nose.
Exhale through your mouth.
Let yourself arrive softly,
Slowly.
Now imagine your body as a home.
A home with many rooms,
Some well-lit,
Some long-abandoned,
Some filled with echoes.
Let your breath begin to move through these rooms.
No need to open any doors yet,
Just explore.
Now imagine there's one room,
Deep,
Quiet,
Untouched.
It holds something sacred.
It holds your voice,
The one you buried to survive.
The one they told you was too much,
Too strange,
Too wild,
Or too soft.
Imagine yourself standing at that door now.
Place your hand gently over your throat and whisper,
I remember you.
I'm ready to listen now.
You are safe with me.
And let that door open slowly.
Inside,
What do you see?
A shape?
A glow?
A word?
A sound?
Or a version of you that never stopped knowing?
Let that version of you come closer.
Let them place something in your hands.
It might be an image,
A phrase,
A feeling,
A shape.
Whatever it might be,
Hold it.
Breathe it in.
Now say this softly.
I will no longer silence you to make them comfortable.
Your truth is sacred.
And it belongs to no one but us.
Let that other version of you step into your body.
Let your throat warm.
Let your belly soften.
Let your voice return.
Take one final deep breath.
Let it out with a soft sound,
A hum,
A sigh,
A whisper.
Let that sound ripple through the room like a thread being rewoven.
And when you're ready,
Wiggle your fingers.
Open your eyes.
And say your own name out loud and add this.
Has always had a voice worth hearing.
Lindsay has always had a voice worth hearing.
You can return to this room whenever you forget.
You'll still be there.
Your voice never left.
They were waiting for you to remember.
