This Appreciation and Gratitude practice is a conscious effort to appreciate the things in our life that make us feel good. The practice is tied in with opening our hearts and embracing the blessings we have in our life, but sometimes forget about.

Begin this practice by finding a comfortable position,

Either sitting or lying down,

And closing your eyes.

As you settle into the space and place around you,

Take a moment to breathe and think back over the last 24 to 48 hours to when someone or something touched you,

Impacted your world in a positive way,

Or simply made you feel appreciated.

If you have trouble bringing a person or a situation to mind,

Remind yourself that what you're looking for is a recent moment in time in which you experienced love,

Joy,

Connectedness,

Or a feeling of being grateful to be alive.

This may be a close person,

An intimate friend,

Or even a stranger that recently touched your heart.

Or it may be an experience,

However small or big,

That felt as if your soul was receiving a gift.

When you have that moment,

Simply place your hand over your heart.

Keep that image in your mind as vividly as you can,

Trying to put yourself back into that memory.

You may remember specific smells,

Vivid images,

Or even sounds and noises that resonated with you in this deeply meaningful moment.

And when you feel you've fully recreated the person,

The surroundings,

And yourself in the scene,

Anchor your awareness into your body and take a moment to savor this memory,

This encounter,

This experience.

As this time of remembering draws to a close,

Take a moment to notice the feeling that you're sitting with and use these last remaining moments to savor this experience and carry this gratitude,

Appreciation,

And love with you for the rest of the day.

Thank you.

Very much calmed me down and made me happy but also I was kind of confused if the meditation ended sometimes

Poetic, evocative and engaging gratitude meditation. Although I struggled to think of a specific person or moment on this occasion, I'm going to use this meditation as part of my daily gratitude practice and journal.
