We are immersed in a continuous search,
In the pursuit of a state of calm and joy that eludes us at every moment.
We usually make a mistaken search,
Like in that Sufi story called the key,
Especially if our expectations are placed in the attainments we can make,
Because material achievements will not solve our dissatisfaction,
In this case crossing the river.
And on the other hand,
Even if we are looking in the right place,
If we are applying our attention,
Our receptivity,
We cannot be with an attitude excessively proactive,
Focused on achieving a certain objective.
Receptivity is key to our progress.
To meditate you have to relax.
You have to let yourself be penetrated.
This is a small contradiction that must be overcome.
It is convenient to carry out our practices,
And we know that training our attention is good for us and it takes us to a good destination,
But at the same time it is convenient for us to put aside the desire to reach any goal and its benefits.
This is an art,
Applying a certain discipline and at the same time letting yourself be.
Just being open and receptive.
The master represents the person who has become sensitized,
He who has awakened,
The one who has crossed over to the other shore.
Hence he has a special perspective.
And what does he say to the seeker?
You are just fine where you are right now.
Paradoxically,
To achieve my ultimate state,
I do not have to cross over the river,
At least not in a physical sense,
Achieving goals,
Accumulating wealth or experiences,
No,
Simply going deeper into our being,
Soaking up what surrounds me.
Nothing to do,
Nowhere to go.
It is not difficult to find this message in the spiritual literature.
Those who have achieved remarkable fruits in their spiritual journey remind us that everything is within our reach.
That other reality is occurring at the same time,
Is the basis of what we are perceiving right now.
That compassionate and joyful feeling is also available.
It must be revealed,
Discovered,
But it is here at your fingertips.
By the way,
Tantra tells us about these deeper layers,
Where sensory stimulation is perceived with a more sophisticated,
Subtle and rewarding quality.
From that intimate connection with ourselves,
A great variety of nuances in our level of satisfaction emerges.
It is not necessary to do anything special.
We understand that perfection is here and now.
If not,
If I am planning to obtain satisfaction outside of the here and now,
I am looking for the key in the wrong place.
I am obsessing over crossing a river that should be crossed over through a change of attitude,
Not physically,
Through an inner mechanism.
And to activate this mechanism,
There is a main way.
To rest on your sensations.
To meditate.
