Hello,
My name is Lou Redmond and I love being a meditator and a practitioner of contemplative traditions and bringing in the tradition that I grew up in,
Catholicism,
Into this frame and seeing the unity and the oneness in all great traditions.
And so I'm sensing that if you clicked on a video like this,
Maybe you are similar to me and I want to share and practice the Lord's Prayer together,
But doing it in a way where we're going to slow down into it and really feel it.
Both say it and pray it.
You can say it out loud.
You can feel it as I say it.
And really connect to it slow down,
Almost as if it's a metaporation as I used to joke and quip about.
Let's go ahead and do that.
So go ahead and close your eyes.
And.
Coming into your body.
And finding a cleansing breath to relax and settle you here for a moment,
Relaxing the shoulders.
And then the way I'm going to offer this is I'm actually going to say the prayer.
In one saying.
And just notice how it lands when you're listening to it.
And then we're going to say it again where I'm going to repeat.
A line and then you're going to repeat it.
And you notice how that.
What that evokes.
Our Father,
Who art in heaven.
Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done.
On Earth.
As it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses.
As we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation.
But deliver us.
From all evil.
Alright,
Now slowing it down and.
.
.
I'm going to say a verse and then feel you repeating it,
Noticing how that lands,
If you can really feel the prayer.
Our Father.
Who art in heaven.
Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done.
On Earth.
As it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses.
And lead us not into temptation.
Into temptation.
But deliver us.
From all evil.
And I always like to slow down after I repeat that to myself,
The I will be done.
I will.
Not my will.
Thy will.
Not my will.
You're welcome to repeat that if it resonates.
And then slowly coming back here.
Thank you for watching.
Allowing me to share this prayer with you.
I hope it connected.
I hope it was a way to slow down a little bit into it and really feel its essence.
And I encourage you to come back to it if you want some support and space.
To connect to it in maybe a different way than if you were to just say it.
Thank you so much.
If you like this,
I have some other practices in a Christian contemplative tradition.
I have a meditation on Psalm 23,
A meditation on Be Still and Know.
And I also have a course on living the prayer of St.
Francis.
So I encourage you to explore some of those offerings and I look forward to connecting with you again very soon.
