I want to invite you to pray the Hail Mary with me.
When I think of this prayer,
My mind goes back to confession and the priest telling you after to say four Our Fathers and five Hail Marys.
And I think there's something to repetition.
There's a practice of praying the rosary and there's something in the trance of repeating words over and over again.
But the way that I like to look at prayer is really a way for us to slow down and really feel the words more than just repeating them and saying them,
What matters is feeling them because a prayer can be a portal.
It can be a portal to God,
A portal to the divine for us to feel that energy,
That love,
That care in us now.
And so I'll say one more thing before we begin that.
In this prayer,
It's talked about praying for us sinners,
And that can have a charged language for some people.
And I like the actual definition of sin,
Meaning simply to miss the mark.
And as humans,
We always miss the mark.
We're always making mistakes,
Right?
We could have been kinder to this person.
And so it's just asking for praying for us as humans that make mistakes and that miss the mark and aren't always the most enlightened versions of ourselves.
And so let's go ahead and slow down.
So close your eyes.
And you're welcome to be in prayer hands for this.
You're welcome to let your hands relax.
We are going to move through this prayer a few times.
The first time I'm going to repeat it right through and you're welcome to follow and repeat along.
And the second time,
We're going to slow down into it.
And then the third time,
We're going to,
Again,
Repeat it right through.
And so let's begin by just taking a full breath in.
And as you breathe out,
Relaxing your body,
Letting it soften.
Find a sense of groundedness with the earth or your seat beneath you.
Maybe feeling.
The awareness drop into your heart,
Letting go.
Muscles soften and relax.
Opening to what?
This prayer has for you today.
Every day is different,
So seeing what resonates with you today.
And so again,
You're welcome to repeat as we move through this for the first time.
Just listen and receive.
Hail Mary.
Full of grace.
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed are thou amongst women.
And blessed is the fruit of thy womb,
Jesus.
Holy Mary.
Mother of God.
Pray for us sinners.
Now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.
And so really seeing if you can slow down,
Maybe taking another breath in.
And out.
And then as we slow down with the words.
Seeing if you can open again to.
Which words,
What's resonating with you today?
Maybe opening to.
The Grace.
That is here for you.
And so you're welcome to repeat this silently out loud.
But again,
Really feel the words.
Hail Mary.
Full of grace.
Full of grace.
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou amongst women.
And blessed is the fruit of thy womb,
Jesus.
Holy Mary.
Holy Mary.
Mother of God.
Pray for us sinners.
Now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.
And so again,
Slowing down.
Opening.
Letting yourself be able to receive.
Thank Grace.
So then you can be full of grace.
And reciting this prayer one more time.
Hail Mary,
Full of grace.
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou amongst women.
And blessed is the fruit of thy womb,
Jesus.
Holy Mary.
Mother of God,
Pray for us.
For us sinners.
Now.
And in the hour of our death.
Amen.
When I recite the Hail Mary,
Can't help but think of.
.
.
The Beatles tune.
When I find myself in times of trouble.
Mother Mary comes to me.
Speaking words of wisdom.
Let it be.
Let it be.
And so invitation to call on Mary.
Maybe there's some trouble.
Then you are moving through.
Call on Mother Mary here.
As you slow down,
As you let your body rest,
As you be.
And it's in that beingness that the answers arise.
It's in that beingness that the lessons arise of why we might go through difficult things that we often can't see it.
In the moment.
We have to let it be,
Let it unfold,
Let it teach us,
And in doing so we find a greater wisdom.
Within us.
That we can then embody.
And so any way that you want to honor this practice,
Maybe it's a bow,
A prayer,
Hands,
Maybe it's a hand on your heart.
Taking another breath into your body.
And letting that go.
Starting to open your eyes if you had them closed.
Mmm.
Thank you for exploring.
That prayer.
The Hail Mary with me.
Yeah,
I'd love to hear what words,
What resonated for you today.
Feel free to share as a comment.
And i have some other prayers if you'd like this you want to do some more catholic contemplative sort of prayers.
You can find some videos.
On my page.
And I also have an audio course on the prayer of St.
Francis where we really slow down and go through this prayer and some of the wisdom and the teachings of St.
Francis of Assisi over five days.
So I invite you to come check that out.
And may your day be blessed sending prayers,
Sending love,
Sending energy out to you.
I look forward to connecting with you again very soon.
Take care.
