Hello,
Welcome.
My name is Lew Redman.
Thanks for listening.
Today we are going to be exploring a fundamental question.
What makes life worth living?
As a student of Aletheia Coaching,
Which is a coaching organization that I've studied for years with,
We highlight the difference between doing something in order to get something from it or for its own sake,
Where the action is fulfilling in itself.
We refer to this as technological attunement versus poetic attunement.
Technological attunement is transactional.
I do X and expect Y.
Poetic attunement is relational,
Deepening our understanding of self and other.
It's not what is done,
But rather how.
Some people like me who are coaches,
They take trainings in order to get a certification,
In order to be perceived as qualified.
We would call this technological attunement.
You're doing it for the outcome.
Some coaches,
They do trainings because they love what they are learning and practicing.
They're not attached to the piece of paper,
They are in it for the experience.
That we would call poetic attunement.
While technological attunement is necessary at times,
It doesn't lead to lasting fulfillment.
It's not what makes life worth living.
I've been noticing myself in technological attunement as a business owner.
Copywriting is writing in order to get someone to take action.
When I'm writing marketing materials,
Trying to get something from people,
It doesn't feel good.
Poetic attunement is not about trying to get anywhere.
It's about attuning to the stream of energy that is everywhere,
Which takes care of everything.
It's allowing spirit to live through us rather than making things happen.
My transformational coaching involves being in poetic attunement with clients,
Connecting deeply with them and allowing the resources that emerge to guide our work.
I've been asking myself,
Can marketing be the same?
Can all of life be the same?
Right now,
As I share with you these words,
It's fulfilling.
I enjoy being in front of a mic.
I'm not attached to you doing anything from this.
Of course,
I hope it's valuable.
I hope it helps you think about your life or things in it in a different way,
But I'm not trying to get you to do anything.
And when I share like this,
It doesn't matter who likes it,
Who doesn't like it,
Who listens.
If someone appreciates it,
Great.
If not,
Then that's okay too.
However,
I find myself sometimes maybe in my marketing,
Which is not in this app that I'm sharing with you,
Where I make a post,
I share something on social media and I expect something.
I want a result from people and it doesn't happen.
And my heart sinks and it's just not fun.
And I realized I didn't enjoy creating it anyway.
I was in technological attunement.
Well,
I'm done trying.
I'm wanting to live my life from poetic attunement where everything is flowing,
Where I am present,
Where I am trusting things as they are and as they come through.
Because people out in the world that we try to get something from,
They're real human beings.
They're not a number to extract their money or their time,
Their attention,
That they're real human.
And in a sea of many other messages that you get on a day-to-day basis,
I hope you find things that I share.
I think things that I've always shared on this app have come from that poetic place,
Has come from that place where it is fulfilling in itself to create and share.
And so I encourage you to think about where is that in your life?
Where are you doing things to get something from it,
Expecting a result,
Trying?
And where do when you do things,
Time flies.
It's fulfilling in itself.
You do it for the intrinsic value.
You do it for its own sake.
And in those spaces,
I trust that that is where you are going to find what life is worth living for.
I send you so much support on your spiritual and creative journey.
Know that I'm always rooting for you.
And I look forward to connecting with you again very soon.
