One means of moving toward more fulfillment in our lives is by engaging our values in different life domains.
Life can be divided into many domains,
But for simplicity purposes,
Let's imagine just four of them.
Love,
And play.
As you consider the following questions,
Feel free to pause the video at any time if you need to reflect further.
And be on the lookout for any shoulds.
In other words,
If you notice your mind saying,
I should be doing.
.
.
Instead,
See if you can anchor your responses in choice.
In freely choosing who you want to be and what you want to stand for.
OK,
So if we zoom into health.
How would you like to be treating your mind,
Body,
And spirit?
In what ways do you already nurture your well-being?
What would you like to improve upon?
And in doing so,
What would be the very first or smallest step you would take?
In the domain of work or education.
How do you want to show up?
In other words,
What values do you want to inform your actions?
How might you derive more meaning,
Purpose,
Or vitality from what you do?
Is there a more desirable direction that you'd like to be moving in over time?
In the relationships that matter most to you.
What qualities do you want to bring into those interactions?
How do you want to treat others?
Which relationships are particularly fulfilling.
Which would you like to devote more attention to?
And finally,
Do you make time to play?
Are there recreational activities that you find particularly enjoyable?
What does play or leisure mean to you?
Would you like this domain to take up more or less space in your life?
I hope you found this experiential inquiry helpful in orienting you towards your values.
