As we come into Shavasana,
One of our most important poses.
As we start by taking a nice deep breath in,
Filling up the belly,
And exhale belly to spot.
And again,
Breathing in calm and exhale,
Release the body into the mat.
And one more time,
Deep breath in,
Fill the body up and exhale back into calm and release the body into the mat.
Allow your ankles to fall out to the sides.
Relax your ankles,
Your calves,
Your thighs,
Your knees.
Allow your legs to go into relaxation.
Relax your glutes,
Relax your hips.
One by one,
Feel each vertebrae melt into the mat underneath you.
Let your shoulder blades relax and sink into the mat.
Your shoulders start to soften as your arms feel heavy and relaxed by your side.
Down to your elbows,
Your wrists,
Your hands,
All the way to your fingertips.
Soften your chest and let's take one more deep breath in and on the exhale,
Send the belly into further relaxation.
The belly is where we hold a lot of our stress and start to find a nice soothing,
Beautiful,
Calming,
Breathing rhythm just for you.
Relax your throat,
Relax your neck.
Allow your head to melt underneath you.
With your eyes gently closed,
Soften your eye muscles,
Soften your facial muscles,
Relax your jaw and allow your jaw just to hang like a hammock and breathe.
There's nothing for you to do right now.
There's nowhere for you to be right now.
All you need to do is breathe.
Ignore any distractions that are around you and they bring you deeper into relaxation.
I want you to envision you're walking along a beautiful forest path.
The sun is shining through the trees,
The air is warm.
There is a gentle cool breeze and as you're walking along a path,
You come to a beautiful clearing.
As you step through the clearing,
You notice that it is your own personal beach haven.
The sand is white and warm.
The water is aqua and turquoise and crystal clear.
You can see all the way to the bottom.
You can hear the birds.
You can smell the sea air.
You can hear the waves rustling as they crash upon the shoreline.
I want you to make your way down to the beach as you come to the shoreline and feel the beautiful crystal clear salt water crashing onto your feet.
I want you to walk along the shoreline and you notice up ahead there is a beautiful cabana just for you.
There is a beach bed.
There is drinks.
There is mid-leafs.
I want you to relax in your beach.
You may want to go swimming.
You may want to build a sand castle.
You may want to go to your cabana and have a beverage.
Whatever you want to do,
This is your personal beach haven.
You may invite somebody else to be there with you.
I will bring you back in just a few moments.
Enjoy your time at your beach.
It is time to leave your beach but before you go you notice down by your feet the most beautiful seashell you have ever seen.
It is large and it is exquisite.
You pick the seashell up and hold it to your ear and a message is spoken to you.
Listen to the message and I want you to bring that message back into the present moment.
As we start to reconnect the mind and the body,
Let's awaken with a deep breath in and out.
You may feel some movement in your toes and in your fingertips.
I want you to raise your hands above your head as you stretch all the way through from your fingertips to your toes.
With your eyes closed gently rolling over onto your right side.
As we have honored our mind and our body tonight in yoga class,
Let's honor ourselves by saying something kind about ourselves for today and gently raising yourself up into Sukhasana seated position.
Thank you so much for joining me yogis.
Namaste.
