You are listening to the Motherhood Unstressed podcast.

I'm your host,

Liz Carlisle.

Thank you for joining me for another guided meditation.

If you didn't know,

We do these every single Wednesday.

And they are just a short,

Simple way for you to connect back to your breath and to who you really are,

To bring in that self-awareness that truly is the key to knowing yourself and to being present.

Because it's when we know ourselves and we can get out of our heads in any given moment,

We make a different choice or we can make a better choice.

And that adds up over time.

And so doing this work is critical for our happiness,

For our success in life.

And most people can't do it,

Won't do it.

So thank you.

So let's get settled.

You can do this any way you like,

Whether it's laying on the couch,

On your bed,

Or sitting cross-legged with your hands gently resting on your knees.

The point is to be relaxed,

But alert.

My job is to guide you back to yourself,

Back to your heart so that you can look fully and understand what's going on with you today.

So let's take a deep breath in through the nose.

Hold at the top and let it go.

Let's take another deep breath in.

Hold and let it go.

Again deep breath in.

Hold and let it go.

Last time together,

Deep breath in.

Hold for longer and release.

I want you to take your right hand and put it over your heart and take your left hand and put it over your belly.

And just feel the sensation of your chest rising and falling.

Feel the sensation of your heart beating.

The more you relax,

The more your breath will trickle down into your belly.

Notice what other sensations you may be feeling right now.

This is about coming home.

And when we place our hands on our hearts,

It's a reminder.

It's a reminder that we are a human body that needs love and attention.

Just like a child.

So for the next minute,

I want you to send your heart,

To send your core,

All of your love as if the hand over your heart were over someone that you love in your life.

Really feel the emotion.

Many people when they do this will get emotional because they don't take the time to connect back and to see themselves as a child who needs compassion and love.

But you do.

You can place your hands back in your lap or on your knees if you like.

But now is the time to send yourself all of the love.

And I'll let you know when it's time to come out.

When you release,

Release everything.

Release fear,

Release sadness,

Release frustration so that all that's left is your pure heart.

Take that feeling into your day,

Into your interactions with your family,

Your friends,

Your work.

Let it seep into everything,

That love,

That self-awareness that you just gifted yourself.

It is an incredible gift.
