You are listening to the Motherhood Unstressed Podcast and I'm your host Liz Carlisle.
Thank you so much for tuning in to another guided meditation.
I am so glad that you're here and I'm honored that you are taking this time to do the internal work that's going to enable you to be happier and healthier and more grounded.
And that is what this meditation is all about today.
It's about grounding to the energy and the power of the earth.
So many times we can feel like our thoughts are taking us over and we're too much in our heads.
So it's important to take this time to get settled,
To get grounded,
To remember who you are so that you can go out into your day,
Into your work with your family and really be there,
Really be present.
So let's get settled.
You can do this meditation lying flat on your back in bed or your yoga mat or you can sit seated with legs crossed with your palms gently resting on your knees.
It doesn't matter how you do this meditation.
It matters that you're here,
That you showed up and that you're focusing now on being present.
So now as we get more settled,
I want you to focus on the gentle rhythm of your breathing.
Sit back with the power of your breath.
Again,
Something we so often forget because it is automatic,
But one of the only processes that we can actually control.
Feel the sensation of the air coming into your nose,
Going down your esophagus,
Filling your lungs with healing oxygen,
The exchange and then the out-breath through the nose.
Release your tongue from the roof of your mouth.
Melt your shoulders away from your ears.
With every breath,
Release tension that you may be holding in one area or another.
Let your body relax.
Let your mind release.
All you have to do right now is breathe and be aware of your breathing.
It's that simple.
Starting now from the top of your head,
I want you to trickle down as if you just cracked an egg and your awareness is the trickling down past your third eye,
To your nose,
To your mouth,
Down your throat,
To your heart,
Down to in between your ribs,
Down to your belly,
Down into your hips,
Down your legs,
Past your knees,
Down your shins,
To your ankles,
To your feet,
To your toes.
And as you breathe in,
I want you to bring your awareness back in the opposite direction as if your entire body was a circuit on a track,
Coming up higher and higher,
Higher,
Higher,
To the top.
Deep breath in and let it all go.
Keep breathing.
You should feel the swirling of energy inside you now.
You have engaged all of your chakras,
Released any blocks.
And now I want you to bring your attention to your root chakra near your seat and imagine your body that's touching the earth right now going deeper into the floor,
Past the foundation,
Past the crust of the earth,
Down deep like roots of a tree.
And the deeper you go,
The more strength you get from the immense power of the earth.
Feel yourself fully embedded into the earth,
Becoming one,
Knowing that you are held and supported and loved.
There is no separation.
It's just an illusion.
I'm going to leave you here for about a minute.
Focus on your breathing.
Focus on the vision of being rooted into the earth.
Off you go.
Slowly come back to your body.
Release the roots.
Inhale a little bit deeper to awaken back into present consciousness,
Out of theta state.
You can wiggle your fingers and toes,
Flutter your eyes open,
Do some gentle neck rolls,
Whatever you need.
And remember that if you ever start feeling overwhelmed,
Or like you're too much in your head to stop and breathe and visualize being rooted to the earth.
And if you can actually take your shoes off and touch the grass,
Get outside even for a moment,
That's incredible too.
Thank you so much for taking the time to be with me today.
Thank you for taking the time for yourself.
I hope you have a wonderful,
Wonderful day.
Namaste.
