When you are grateful for your life as it is right now, you are happier and more peaceful, because you are able to recognise that you already have which fills you up, what you have already worked hard for to achieve. Explore gratitude through your five senses. You are alive and well. You are.

The intention of this meditation is to become grateful for what we have right now.

This is fertilization for our soil garden as when we are happier we are aware of the things that we do have and we are grateful for them.

Get comfortable either in a seated position or lying down if you are intending on a rest or a sleep.

Now close your eyes and notice your breath.

Breathe through your nose.

As you inhale,

Nurture and heal yourself.

And as you exhale,

Release any negative emotion and tension.

And as you breathe,

Open yourself up to the wonder of breathing.

That it happens when you are not aware of it,

Effortlessly.

That when you bring your awareness to it,

You notice how it nourishes,

Heals and soothes you.

Notice that it brings you into the present moment,

The here and now.

Notice that you can use it to calm you in stressful situations.

Your body has the ability to heal itself just through the act of breathing.

With each breath know that you are alive and well.

I breathe,

I am alive.

Now bring your awareness to your sense of hearing.

You hear my voice.

You are able to hear beauty in music,

In laughter,

In nature.

You can hear love from the earth,

From loved ones,

From yourself.

I hear I am alive.

Now bring your awareness to your sense of sight.

You can see the world around you,

The beauty,

The earth,

Nature.

You can see people,

People that you love,

People that you like and strangers.

You see love from the earth,

From loved ones,

From yourself.

I see I am alive.

Now bring your awareness to your sense of smell.

You might be able to smell delicious aromas from today and maybe ones you can remember from the past.

Apple pie is baking in the oven,

A distinctive perfume on a loved one.

A kitchen creating meals from love,

A fire,

A bouquet of flowers,

Maybe from a special occasion.

You can smell danger and darkness,

Pleasure and love.

You can smell the earth,

The soil,

Plants,

Flowers.

You can smell other people,

Their perfumes,

Their choices of soaps and their baking or cooking for you.

The message of smell is the only sense that can travel directly to your brain without filters.

I smell I am alive.

Now bring your awareness to your sense of taste.

You can taste the world around you,

The freshness,

The juiciness,

The deliciousness,

Eating ripe delicious fruit,

Enjoying a tasty meal,

A fine wine,

Kissing a loved one,

Tasting them.

You can taste the earth's gifts of food,

People's offerings of food and company in their homes and the cooking and the nourishment that you give to yourself each day.

I taste I am alive.

Bring your awareness to your sense of touch.

You can touch the world around you,

The textures,

The emotions,

The healing,

A hug,

A cold rock,

Butter,

Softness and hardness.

Touch allows you to connect in a human way to people that you love and care about.

You can feel the earth,

Its coolness and its earthiness.

You feel the love from others through tight hugs,

Gentle caresses.

You can feel the love of yourself through caring for your teeth,

Your hair,

Your skin,

All your rituals of self care and self love.

I feel I am alive.

Bring your awareness to the sense of knowing.

You have choice.

You have opportunity.

You can plan.

You can improve.

You can have meaning.

You can understand other people,

Support them and love them.

Others can understand you and support and love you.

You can follow your passions,

Your dreams and your goals.

You can learn of the earth,

Of others and yourself.

You can grow.

I know I am alive.

Through my senses I am alive.

My breathing grounds me in this awareness.

I can nourish and heal my body just by breathing in.

For that I am grateful.

I am grateful.

Thank you.
