Welcome,
I'm glad you're here.
You're not alone if you have a busy mind before bedtime.
The good news is that you've come to the right place.
So just find some comfort in your position and allow yourself to shift around and make yourself just a little bit more comfortable.
And please do not listen to this audio while driving or operating heavy machinery.
So letting the body be as comfortable as possible,
Just exhale fully.
Notice your busy mind with all of its thoughts,
Thoughts zooming and swirling around.
Imagine being able to see them from a distance,
All the thoughts just buzzing around and moving quickly.
Watch them for a moment.
Just observing the thoughts,
Noticing the pace,
And just noticing this from a distance.
The thoughts might be getting busier or slower,
Just notice.
Don't try to stop them,
Just watch them buzz about and then acknowledge.
That's a lot.
Allow yourself a nice,
Deep inhale and exhale.
And appreciate how hard your mind has been working all day,
How hard it's working even in this moment,
Saying thank you,
Mind,
For these thoughts.
Thank you for doing so much for me today.
You've done a great job.
Now it's time to rest.
It's safe to rest and relax now.
Now begin to just notice the breath.
Noticing cool air coming in through the nose,
Noticing the chest gently rising and falling.
Breathe in fully and let out an audible sigh on the exhale,
Ah.
Just let yourself release any tension stored in the body,
Dropping out of the head and landing safely in the rhythms of the breath,
The chest gently expanding,
Rising and falling.
Treat yourself to a long,
Slow exhale,
Exhaling completely and just letting it all go.
And then allow yourself a few luxurious inhales and exhales.
No need to rush,
Just take as much time as you want and at whatever pace feels good to you.
Let that flow of breath continue and then scan your body for any tension,
Any worry or stress in the body.
You don't need to ignore it,
Just notice.
What if anything feels uncomfortable?
Finding where the tension is stored.
It might be subtle or it might be intense.
Just move your attention towards it.
Just getting curious and noticing the experience in your body.
Where do you feel the stress or tension or worry?
Is it in the neck or shoulders or in the belly?
Does it feel like a buzzing or a gripping feeling?
Is it dense?
However you experience it,
Acknowledge it and just let it be.
Whatever you're feeling right now is okay.
Just noting,
This is what I'm experiencing right now.
This is my experience right now,
Just accepting it.
Even if it's uncomfortable,
It's okay.
Saying to yourself,
This is my experience right now.
And there's nothing wrong with it.
This is my experience right now and there's nothing wrong with it.
This is my experience and there's nothing wrong with me.
Just accepting,
This is what it is.
And we'll see if we can honor that experience,
Even thank it.
Telling the body,
Thank you.
Thank you for what I'm experiencing right now.
Thank you for these signs.
Thank you for this feedback.
Reminding the body,
I know you have a good intention.
I know you're just trying to get my attention.
I know you wanna keep me safe.
I know you wanna protect me,
So thank you.
You have my attention.
Thank you.
Thank you for that beautiful intention of keeping me safe and protected.
And telling that part of the body,
Yes,
I too want to be safe and protected.
That's important to me,
So thank you.
Thank you for your care and concern.
And just breathing in gratitude and appreciation.
These signals are trying to keep you safe and protected.
They're just trying to get your attention.
That's so kind.
So just breathing into it.
Saying thank you,
Mind,
For these thoughts.
And thank you,
Body,
For these feelings and sensations.
Really feel gratitude for it all.
And then set that feeling free.
You might even visualize all the little bits just floating away,
Letting it all go.
The message was received,
So you can let it go,
Release it,
Letting your belly be loose and soft,
Releasing the tension in your gut,
Breathing into the belly,
Letting your shoulders drop down,
Releasing the jaw,
Relaxing your scalp,
Releasing any tension,
Store it there.
Soften the muscles around your eyes,
Loosen,
Soften all the little muscles around the eyes,
Soften the forehead,
Releasing.
Now we'll intentionally scan through our bodies,
Just noticing with curious attention,
Whatever sensations arise.
And whatever you experience,
This practice will still work.
There's no way to do it wrong.
Starting with a right big toe,
A second toe,
A third toe,
A fourth toe,
A fifth toe,
And then moving to the left foot,
The left big toe,
The second toe,
The third toe,
The fourth toe,
The fifth toe,
The right foot as a whole,
The left foot as a whole,
Feeling into the right ankle and the left ankle and both feet,
Imagining you can feel the feet from the inside out.
And then moving up the shins and up to the right knee,
Both of the legs,
Noticing all the sensations through the hips,
Through the belly,
Through the back,
Letting all the muscles just loosen and soften.
And then releasing through the chest and through the shoulders and down the arms and releasing the neck and the jaw and the eyes and the forehead,
The head as a whole,
The whole body,
Releasing,
Relaxing,
Your entire body calm,
So still,
Completely still,
Just releasing and relaxing,
The body still and peaceful.
And then
