Hi there.
Today,
We are going to do a simple but powerful meditation.
We spend so much of our time thinking about what just happened or what needs to happen next.
That we can miss what's happening right now.
This meditation is about returning to the present moment using two simple phrases.
I am breathing.
And I am here.
And by pairing these words with our breath,
We give our mind something steady to focus on.
And when our attention wanders,
As it naturally will,
Just simply return to the words.
We aren't trying to create a perfectly quiet mind today.
We're practicing being present with the one we have.
So find yourself in a comfortable position.
You can close your eyes or simply soften your gaze.
Now begin by noticing your breath.
There's no need to change it.
Just notice that you are breathing.
That's it.
Notice the inhale.
Notice the exhale.
Notice your body as you're breathing.
Now,
As you breathe here,
Silently say to yourself.
On the inhale,
I am breathing.
And as you breathe out on the exhale.
And I am here.
Inhale,
I am breathing.
Exhale out.
And I am here.
Now continue on your own this I am breathing and I am here,
Inhale and exhale,
And I will mind the time.
And if your mind wanders,
That's okay.
Just notice the thought,
Come back.
To I am Breathing.
And I am here.
You you Now one more round.
Breathe in,
Knowing you're breathing in.
And breathe out knowing you're breathing out.
Now let go of the words and allow the breath to continue on its own.
And notice what it's like to sit here without asking anything of yourself.
Again,
I'm going to mine the time.
Just sit here and notice that you are breathing.
Take a nice long slow inhale in.
Let it go.
One more time,
Breathe in through the nose.
And just let the air fall out of the mouth.
With a sigh.
You'll start to feel the ground beneath you.
Notice the space around you.
And if life gets a little crazy today.
Whenever you need it,
You can just return.
To noticing how you are in that moment.
Breathing in,
I am breathing.
And letting go.
I am here.
And tap into how you need to be in that moment anytime.
Just noticing that you are here.
Breathing.
One more inhale in.
And on the exhale,
You can open your eyes and come back.
Thank you so much for meditating with me today.
This was a short practice,
But.
.
.
A powerful one to connect with yourself.
I hope you come back to it often.
And thank you so much.
